Fun fact: Renault's name change means that there's been at least one team change (in name at least) since 2015.

2015: Death of Caterham
2016: Hass joins, Lotus becomes Renault, Marussia becomes just Manor
2017: Death of Manor
2018: Sauber becomes Alfa Romeo Sauber
2019: Alfa takes over Sauber
2020: Toro Rosso to AlphaTauri
2021: Renault to Alpine

Would be nice if they stopped faffing around with the teams for a couple of seasons.

Hmm am I the only one that thinks that that is a sign of failure for Renault?

This reads to me like if the new "Alpine" team sucks for the next few years then when Renault decides to do a Toyota and pulls the plug after copious amounts of money thrown at F1, there will be less indignation for Renault as the casual F1 fan will be like "Alpine who??"

But if successful I could totally see Renault rebranding the team back as Renault.

They will wait with any changes to the end of 2022. New rules and arrival of Alonso.

Some rumours going around that Felix da Costa is trying to put himself in a car for the Portuguese GP, either a demo run, a free practice or even a one-off race.

2022: No doubt Williams new owners will have changed that team's name by then to better reflect whatever the hell it is they do

So...was interested in what cars exactly Alpine actually has. Went to website and was expecting there to be a Zonda or some exotic car like that.......Was totally not expecting to find a solitary glorified Hyundai. Really Renault? Really? Talk about an exit strategy.

Alpine manufactures one of the best sportscars on sale right now, a tribute to the legendary A110 from 60's

funny that Renault when they entered F1 in late 70's they named the engine Gordini that was one tuning house that used to beef up performance of those cheap and underpowered Renaults from the day like the 4CV and the Dauphine

That's a shame. Stroll has definitely improved, but Perez is still the faster of the two (strategy has cost him a few times this season). One of the best drivers on the grid when it comes to getting extra life out of the tires. Hopefully he can end the season with some good performances. I don't want to believe that a team would deliberately screw over one of their drivers, but it does feel that way with Perez this season.

I don't know... I have the impression Perez doesn't take the opportunities when they come. He used to be better at this. And that's really important at a rising team like Racing Point. With all the problems we've seen, I believe Vettel can take these opportunities. And why not a thirsty Hulk can do a better job?

Could it be as simple that Stroll didn't travel halfway across the world in the middle of the season, contracted COVID, and put the whole sport at risk?

So after screwing Ferrari with his dumb ass driving, he now screws over other drivers by stealing their drive.

Go away Vettel.
