Looks like Lopez is trying to work on a deal to move from USF! to Campos & could be announced tomorrow:
http://en.espnf1.com/campos/motorsport/story/9461.html

Woudn't be a good choice for the team as someone with experience to run alongside Bruno Senna would have been beneficial for both Bruno & the team for the 1st season.

Someone with experience would have been better, but who is available? The only two I can think of are Ralf and Jacques. Fisichella wouldn't be available due to Ferrari's blind hatred of the new teams. Heidfeld is tied to Mercedes. Sato is in America. Coulthard?

And, from Campos' point of view, the money is probably more important right now. Senna can overcome the weaknesses of the package, by himself if necessary.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Remember Super Aguri on debut? What, 4 seconds off the pace in Austrailia. Get ready for some of that.

To be fair, the Super Aguri was a cobbled together 2002 Arrows with the Honda V8 put in with a bit of blu-tak and a shoe horn.

And just to show the progress they made over the year, At the final round of that year in Brazil, Sato was just over 2.5 seconds off the fastest Q1 time & Yamamoto was only 1 tenth off Sato. In the race Yamamoto set 7th fastest lap of the race, 1.2 seconds off Schumacher's fastest & Sato set 9th fastest race lap 1 tenth slower than Yamamoto's.

They may have had Honda backing & tech support, But the level of improvement they got out of what was basically a 4 year old car was real impressive, Especially given what Honda managed to design/develop for themselfs the following 2 years.

And the comparisons run a lot deeper...
In that my mate was engineer on both teams! (although don't know of that a good or a bad thing)

That was the fact that the Bridgestone tyres were far superior to the Michelins that day

Unfortunately it seems Campos might race with Chandhok and López leaving Senna out of a seat. :(

Chandok / Lopez, both are much of a muchness really. As long as Bruno keeps his seat I won't be bothered who partners him.

Chandhok was nothing special in GP2 if I'm honest but Bernie might give Kolles a nudge with the Indian GP on the 2011 calendar

Dumping Senna for Chandock would be ironic. I believe Senna crushed him during the 2008 season, this decision would obvious not be based on talant.

But looking at the track record of drivers Kolles thought where F1 worthy (Monteiro, Karthikiyan, Albers, Winkelhock, Yamamoto) it wouldn't suprise me a bit.

Hope they keep Senna just by looking at the marketing potential his name got. I doubt they will keep him because he has the most talent.
