In the beginning, Hamilton overtook someone in T3 or T4. I don't remember which lap but there was a yellow flag out. Right after Hamilton was done with his maneuver the green light was flashing next to the track so I wondered whether he overtook in the yellow section?

He overtook Button on lap 6 into T3. Didn't see any flags before T3, only after that and green flags were after T4. It must have been Senna who stopped somewhere around turn 4, as the info is that he stopped on first sector

I was wondering if I would pick Button, Vettel or Kubica
I chose Vettel because he has not enough votes, he had a great pace, and deserved to win

Very enjoyable race, especially the first half. I wasn't expecting Button to stay as good as he was after everyone else changed to slicks, but he did. There was always a battle going on somewhere in the field. Great racing overall. Would have been rated higher had the second half been as entertaining as the first.

8/10

Gave it a 9. The start was absolutely exciting. We had spins, crashes, many overtakings, mechanical failures, drama...to the end of the race it got a bit boring though.
edit: ohhh...btw..stupid mclaren pit crew cheering at Vettel's failure. :yuk:

Hamilton had just pulled of an amazing overtake on Rosberg, I think they were still cheering for that.

9. great race, but the second half wasn't that exciting. The 2003 Melbourne GP is still the best on this track, so I couldn't give this one a 10.

Same here

I didn't start watching the race until about the 15th lap or so. Pretty entertaining race from the time I tuned in, and I missed that big wreck on the first lap. That was pretty insane watching the replays later on in the going.

Why was the 2nd part boring? Kubica, Massa and Alonso stayed very close together, Hamilton and Webber where catching them very quickly. Tension was building every lap, for me it stayed very exciting untill the end.

The tension was there until you realised that they just couldn't pass them :(

Seriously, awesome, awesome race.

10/10 for sure

+ 1

No, I would vote 12/10

This was the formula one I always dreamed of, with people fighthing constantly on track. The best ever F1 race for me in the best sense of the ratings I care: racing-wise.

I would put Alonso that holded Hamilton on the end, heroic race. But more epic was Kubica second. Other than that, all the top 4 were great picks, Hamilton and Vettel aswell. The race was just too good to pick only one pilot.

Chandock.

Having not driven the car until quali in Bahrain, 7 laps for the whole weekend there and to turn up in Melbourne not having driven on the track and to finish the race classified is a really impressive effort.

For a few laps that looked the case, but without Webber trucking into Hamilton I think they both would have managed to get at least Alonso.

8/10 from me - good race.

Lol @ Press conference.

Massa: At the beginning of the championship I never had a lot of points like I have now, so this is very nice.

Surprising with the new point rule.
