Dutch government issued code orange for parts of Spain including Barcelona. Basically meaning they're urging people who come back from there stay home in quarantine for 14 days.

Now I doubt Max will go to the Netherlands after that race but wonder if other countries will follow and if it will affect the race. They cant afford another Australia farce so will have to decide in the next 2 days or so.

Our government issued code red for the entire Catalan region = 14 day quarantaine is mandatory. Doubt they will enforce it on F1 though.

perhaps they'll lock the track with the entire F1 circus inside. No one enters, no one gets out. And once they are done, they pack and leave Spain as soon as they can

FOM made $600 million less in Q2 this year compared to last.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15126 ... g-lockdown

Also of note is the fact that the teams were paid no money during this period.

God I’m hoping so hard that info drops soon how deep Wolff is involved that even Daimler starts a lawsuit against him.

Ferrari could afford some $40 millions and that still would be a bargain.

It could be better than that.

There have been some suggestions/rumours that in order to guarantee Mercedes' signature on the new Concorde, that they (or possibly everyone) will have the option of terminating their commitment after the first year.

Now imagine that by this time next year, Daimler (and all the other car makers) have a much better idea of the effect of SARS 2 on their business, and the clarity of the situation ends up forcing them to take more action.

They'll probably do a couple of races in the Middle East but that's about it outside Europe.

I believe they'll run more races in 2021 on closed stands, thus giving F1 broadcasters a better opportunity in making the traditional cashgrab out of F1 fans

plus running in middle east is barely an inconvenience, when there were riots in Bahrain F1 was there and they isolated the whole thing from the mess

I think that's what he wants us to believe. Or does he know that we would think that's what he wants us to believe and says that because it's actually true? Or does he want us to think it's actually true?

I personally see F1 doing another European only season in 2021 to help the teams cut costs, because not only to cut costs, the idea of scheduling anything right now (I mean, July/August is when the following years schedule usually gets released) is a crazy idea.

I'm confident in saying the 2021 Australian GP won't happen, at Albert Park anyway. They won't run it without a crowd, they have to start setting up the track mid/late January for a March start. We won't be letting anyone in for another 6 months, considering Melbourne is in the tightest lockdown in the world. Besides, there are no other grade 1 racing facilities in the country, even that brand new expensive shit heap at Tailem Bend isn't one, its grade 2 with Sydney Motorsport Park. Phillip Island is grade 3.

F1 at The Island would just be bonkers. Of course to make it happen they would butcher the track and make the whole track a car park. But those earth walls have provided a few lolz over the years.

Let's go full batshit insane and go to The Mountain. Reid , McPillamy and Skyline would sort the men from the boys.

But I'd love to see Romain Grosjean fly off the top of skyline and barrel roll 28 times down to the main street of Bathurst.

lol

Connecting the few dots about Mercedes and their actions related to maintaining the dominance they have.

- They refused to have reversed grid (car is designed to lead the race, not run in the pack)
- They sold their design to Racing Point (buffer customer team between them and rest)
- They criticized Ferrari for not signing the new Concorde and are now the only team not signing it without getting a pull out after 2022.
- They now are upset about losing special engine maps (which I don't think customer teams have access)

I'm thinking FIA found out about their engine maps when going through Racing Point or Ferrari counter-spied on them after what happened last year. No way other teams have time or resources to spy on Ferrari and then rat them to FIA. It was Mercedes. All this has happened long before media got to know about what's going on.

So my summary is that Mercedes is close to lose their advantage, maybe some this season and more next year with new aero reduce regulations and DAS ban. This of course makes them to react and reject every idea FIA is handing and also why they are not signing the Concorde agreement.

Coming up next: The Red Bull domination era 2 - the Max electric boogaloo 2
