More likely that he got overexcited and sprayed a bottle of champagne inside the garage

Seems like Ferrari & Bernie are pushing for refueling again :(
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/35323338

Never liked refueling, Always felt it had a negative effect on the racing & didn't really bring anything of value.

Own goal
noun

(in football) a goal scored inadvertently when the ball is struck into the goal by a player on the defensive team.

(in F1) the result of constant meddling with rules and failing to fix systematic issues. Also known as "papering over cracks".

Well done F1, well done.

can't they make it optional, for different strategies?

the only option in F1 nowadays is to spend 100 million euros to race for 2 or 3 points each race

The only option in F1 nowadays is to deny there is an issue with the sport, or ignore it completely.

The only thing optional in F1 is to either stop watching it or watch how one team dominates the sports when a new set of rules are taken in use.

It was optional the last time but the advantage you got from running light ensured that everybody did it.

Just look at 1982-1984, Brabham started doing it & as soon as the rest realized how much of a performance advantage it was anyone who could afford to modify their cars to allow refueling did so & in the end all the top teams were doing it.

but that was because they already had tire blankets, so lap times was good after pit stops

take the tire blankets away and we could have something interesting, until they came up with that Berger crash in Estoril 1993 claiming that was the lack of tire blankets that caused (even though it wasn't caused by tire temps, but a suspension malfunction)

All the pussy drivers will claim it is a safety issue to never have to do without tyre blankets...

The season is set in stone, barring one or two GPs. Not really intetesting to look at, not even championship-wise....

Unless it rains in every GP! :8: :8: :8: :8:

F1 needs Murray to return as he can make even the dullest race seem super exciting:

"It's lap 34 and Nasr goes PURPLE in sector 3! THIS IS INCREDIBLE! He's only 15 seconds behind Sainz, who is now 11th.
MY GOODNESS! He's gaining again in sector 1!"

I'm going to be optimistic & say that this year will be better than the last 2. I think Rosberg will start the year as he ended last & really take it to Lewis, Ferrari will also be much closer with Vettel in the title hunt as a serious contender, Kimi will be closer to Vettel, McLaren will be in the points more often, Red Bull will bitch about there engine & the rules in general, The mid-field will be super tight & Haas will score points in Melbourne & beat more than 1 established mid-field team in the championships. Oh & Manor will score at least 1 point.

Now lets watch as none of those things happen :(

If the rumours about Ferrari's power unit upgrades are true, they should again make a great performance leap. And the "shady" development work with Dallara/Haas could also give them a great boost. And changing the front suspension to same as the other teams have. And size zero rear end should also help. Maybe it's going to be Mercedes vs. Ferrari four way battle in most of the races?

I will also try to be optimistic, there's good points why there's a reason for that. But of course, there's also good points to be ready to be dissapointed.
