No red flag for the debris, FIA stewards hungry for some blowouts.

Alonso is so, so lucky that car came back down.

Fucking terrible driving from Stroll. We see this all the time though, it's only sheer luck we haven't seen an air plane crash because of it

Serious question: is the difference between that car settling back down instead of flipping backwards due to the ground effect?

Nope just dumb luck.
The clue is in the name, Alonso was way out of ground effects range at that point.

Edit, in the replay they just showed it looked like Fred got the rears locked which would have pushed the weight forward and bought the nose down.

Time to go green. Hope this won't be another case of cautions breed cautions...

If Alonso would have lost his front wing he would have flipped over

Gilles is spinning in his grave atm (shit Canadians in F1, not a tasteless reference) and Alonso is an absolute legend for keeping that thing under control (once all four wheels were back on the ground).

Tbh Alonso was also way too close to Stroll.

Which wouldn’t be any issue if stroll didn’t move

Alonso was so close to hitting the wall indentation/service road. That couldve been absolutely huge.

Would love to see Alonso march into the Aston garage after the race (Schumacher at Spa 1998 style) and berate Stroll if he was trying to fucking kill him!? Would make for some good drama going into next season as teammates. :whistling:

Yeah, that small air was very similar to Kubica's before he hit the wall in '07. The collision itself as well.

Alonso smacked the wall pretty hard there I'm just impressed he's still rolling around out there.

Heck of a pass by Leclerc, very ballsy, despite the attempted late block by Perez.

And THAT is the move of the race
It's pretty much been the only move of the race, but nice one Charles!

Just the right amount of squeezing from Perez imo. Good racing.
