Rain is the only thing that could save this race.

Looks like the edge of the nearest rain cloud will pass just 1km beside the track. Bernie's Rainrepeller 3000 still works. Can't make this stuff up.

A little bit of rain would really make things interesting. All of the forecasts I looked at say it's going to be dry, or absolutely minimal rain.

I still think that we could have a decent race, though. Red Bull on pace with Mercedes, if not faster. Other drivers not far off the pace at all. Incidents, likely Safety Cars...

The reality will probably be Red Bull making a great pit call, but Hamilton being saved by a VSC when he needs to pit.

Looks like it's only one shower with nothing behind it, so even if it hit it wouldn't make any difference

It's a swimming pool from Tamburello to Tosa but the rest of the track is dry.

I'm quite sure they'll run some laps behind SC until everything is dry

Oh, looks the wind started to move the clouds bit south. That kind dampness won't dry immediately. The opening laps will be very interesting.

Think you'd go for inters, the dry/slightly damp parts would kill the full wets
