"I know it's Bild but..." is never a good start to a post. Even if it's true Alonso got shocked, what reason have the other teams got to boycott? They all have working engines that haven't electrocuted anyone over a full year of running. I can't see team bosses suddenly getting all teary eyed and sentimental in a show of support for Honda, probably the opposite if anything...

So the cut off for freight being sent to Australia for the opening race is the 6th, does that mean we can expect to find out Manors second f1 driver in the next 36-48hours? The driver needs to have a seat fitting for the car, which is to be sent off very soon.... Then again, I'm assuming the team will enter 2 drivers into the event & not just Will Stevens...

Anyone have an update on the driver situation?

The car makes contact on the 4 black things they call tyres, which negate the effect. They have the pit boxs set up with anti shock pads too (As far as I've heard), I think Bild has too much time on it's hands....

How could Alonso have been shocked though? Surely something needs to have been grounded to conduct the shock. Titanium skids blocks? A bump in the astro-turf?

Bernie thinks the laws of physics and anything related to science too modern so it doesn't apply to F1.

The seat fitting can be done at the circuit if they were pressed for time, or the driver may be asked to suffer a bit.

Roberto Merhi seems to be top of the pile at the moment, but there has been no announcement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_Merhi

Ex F3 champion, 3rd in last year's FR3.5, did some Fridays for Caterham last season too.

The other name being tossed around is Jordan King, but his dad doesn't seem to have the sort of input that would get him the seat for the moment.
