I'll call you out, because he didn't, he was more disappointed with his old mate Bernie and comments like Todt and Andretti's and said Lewis' is smashing it right now.

People can focus on how much money lewis has all they want, but that's still inspiring to the young black kid who want to be like him.
Chances are the way F1 has morphed since even Lewis' time it'd be a lot harder for them, but Lewis himself is putting his own money into that diversity programmed he announced, so it's more than just solidarity statements before a race and it's not going to be a "one or two knees and that's it", it's a very long term project and Lewis is backing it with both his platform and his finances

What more can he actually do on top of putting his money where his mouth is to help the next generation of drivers, taking a knee for symbolism AND winning so many races for inspiration.

Smashing it, indeed.

You may all think he will help change things for the better but I guess I'm more cynical.

Seems like it will just create more divisiveness. I hope I am wrong though. :)

That's not on Lewis though

You don't quit trying to do the right thing just because some people are too stubborn to change.

You have to give it your best and not give up when you face adversity, in the end history will be his judge just as it will be his performances on the race track.

You bring up Jerez and I remember that while the mayor got Jerez banned from holding GP's in future for what he did, it pales in comparison to Turkey's stunt about North Cyprus and they only got a silly fine for it.

Good point, I had forgot what happened at Turkey. Probably one of a reason why the contract for GP was not renewed.

I believe the fine was a subtle way of banning the race without saying it was banned. Because it was a fine big enough to blow the local promoters and making the race not viable anymore.

It bankrupted the promoters. Bernie had to step in to promote the race himself iirc

What the hell does that even mean? Why does iks need to change or give his best?

Thanks to the awesomeness of Assetto Corsa (and its modders) we can drive a modern F1 car on this track in anger. I'll give it a try later tonight. :flag:

Indeed. Have they said which layout they're using yet? Not sure if they're going to use the first chicane or not

I can't decide whether I want them to use the chicane or not. I'd never usually be in favour of it, but it might be the only chance for any overtaking

Apparently the UK will re-implement the two week quarantine for those coming from Spain. The good news for F1 teams if it's still in place during the Spanish GP is that our government probably won't really enforce it.
