My guess is they want FP3 in case QLF can't go ahead at all, not even tomorrow.
Mercedes must have been lobbying for that, they weren't in front in FP1.

Isn't tomorrow qualifying out of the question already? It's either FP3 imtes or today's qualifying.

If the weather doesn`t change, it would be ridiculous if they won´t run qualify in the exact same weather....

To be fair: if the weather stays like this as it is right now it will be impossible to run qualifying properly.

Decision will be made 15 minutes before the scheduled start of qualifying.

If they can't run again today then they may try & hold qualifying tomorrow at 10am local time.
