Yes I agree. But form is judged over a season, not three races. Right?

I remember the amount of pressure Massa was under after the first two races of the 2008 season. He then went on to challenge Hamilton for the title.

In many cases you are just as good as your last race, but seeing the total picture is obviously much better.

Yep.

And until very recently, Sutil and di Resta were level-pegging. Di Resta's points advantage comes entirely from Bahrain, where he was able to make the most of the strongest car he's driven all year whilst Sutil was torpedoed on lap 1 and couldn't match that performance.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Can't blame the frustration from the FI drivers. Thanks to the FIA and Pirelli their strongest point of their car became useless. And unlike topteams they can't switch 1-2-3.

Richard Goddard's comments might have been precipitated by the fact that McLaren is now actively trying to shop both their FR3.5 drivers to other teams in F1 so that they get some experience.

What price Magnussen at Marussia and Vandoorne at Force India?

I think with di Resta, he hasn't exactly endeared himself to the team with his attitude, even if they were at fault several times (and would be P5 in the WCC).

I think Force India's case might just be a better the devil you know situation - I don't see di Resta or Sutil as having higher potential than F1 midfield but they do a solid job. Taking a rookie would be a plunge for the team, unless the financial injection outweights the experience factor.

The comments about Magnussen to Marussia are a little strange as I was under the impression that Chilton Snr is buying into Marussia on an annual basis.

Vandoorne claims to have turned down a 2014 race seat from Torro Rosso, because he wants to stay in the McLaren camp.

No GP2 as, and I quote: "McLaren doesn't feel anything for that category". Being reservedriver is another option.

Not entirely true. The asked Stoffel to have a meeting with them, they never gave him a concrete offer.

I still rate Massa higher than Maldonado, so I'm OK with that.

What I'm not OK with is the latter landing a seat at Lotus.

Which then suggests the quantum / infinity deal has failed to materialize.

Not entirely surprising, considering the way it's dragged on.

In fairness to Romain, Monaco aside, he's not cost his team any more $$$ in repair bills or time spent fixing the car than Kimi this season.

It's a shame, but if it's done to help Lotus stay alive, then so be it. It's just frustrating that Hulkenberg *still* cannot get a top seat while a petulant driver who's being beaten by a rookie can. All thanks to nationality.

Yes, that is highly probably. But who at Force India would Hulkenberg replace?

Di Resta proably. Can't imagine him staying there.

Right now, I would envisage something more like

Maldonado -> Lotus
Massa -> Williams
Hulk -> McLaren
Magnussen -> Force India
