I somewhat sympathize with the drivers as these cars are simply too big and long to race properly around Monaco anymore.

This happened in FRECA last year or 2 years ago. It's a matter of not trying to squeeze through any gap that you see next to you.

It'll be night in Monaco by the time Indy starts, sadly.

It will almost certainly be dark in Monaco before the 500 starts.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Perez seemed to know Magnussen was there

You know, I'm fed up with Magnussen. But looking at his onboard, Perez could easily have held his line (through the meandering beau rivage) and thus avoided contact. Don't get me wrong, Kevin was sticking his nose where it didn't belong, but I'm not so sure it's a slam dunk affair.

Shouldn't have because the leader passed the first sector before the red.

Yup, totally agree. Perez seemed to know he was there

Are they completely restarting the race like the first start didn't happen? Why is Sainz allowed to restart third? I ask because red flags on the first lap historically used to mean that the race was completely restarted, i.e. the first start didn't happen. That is not what they have done for years.

So if this is not a complete "restart", why is Sainz allowed to restart third when he was effectively last after they had already completed the first sector before the red flag was shown?

On first viewing, I put 100% of the blame on Mags, but you're right. Perez sees him in the mirrors and could have given a little bit more room. I still think Magnussen should back out, but it's avoidable from both drivers.

So, if drivers change tyres will they be allowed to go until the end without stopping? This might be the worst race ever if it happens

Less chance of a Ferrari strategy masterplan if they make use of this option.

When was the last lap 1 red flag we've had? I don't recall any where the starting order was at the point of the red and not the same starting order.
