Can anyone elaborate? He's been driving good but the engines are crap. At least hasn't shunted the car on a regular basis like Kobayashi.

I don't blame him. like every single race hes been taken out, or when hes not taken out his engine says goodbye. Hes been the most unluckiest driver in many years.

I respect your opinion, but the part 'most of the race had no action at all' I don't get.

7 points finishes (would've been 8\8 if not for swerving German pensionsers) = shit?

Alosno doesn't have a chance either. Ferrari's development rate is going to cripple him. Plenty of time and points left for Massa to overtake him.

Iirc Ferrari are bringing a "B" version of their car at the next race in Valencia. That might just save them.

Unless it ends up making their problems worse, a la Brawn last year.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Just watched the whole race after I missed it because of being in Le Mans (Very nice that RTL puts up the full F1 race in internet for a small price). Pretty awesome race.

Don't know if it was on purpose but Bridgestone should keep those huge differences between tyres. I can remember Australia 2009 in which they had the same kind of "problem" and that was also a pretty awesome race.

Great to see we have 2 great dry races without a safetycar in a row. Hope it continues (although I doubt it with the most boring race coming up).

Bridgestone have had the gap between the two compounds all season long (apart from Monaco).

It's something in the surface of these street circuits which generates such great degredation and offers such good racing.

Hopefully either Michelin or Pirelli turn up with a softer tyre so that we see this sort of degredation at all circuits. And scrap this 'you must use both compounds' bullshit. Seriously. Just make one tyre that will last the whole race with crap performance and one that runs great but has to be changed 2\3 times a race, and let the drivers choose.

Lolwut. Alonso 4th in the championship, Massa 8th. Massa has finished consistently, but 5 of his points finishes have been as follows: 7th, 9th, 6th, 4th and 7th. Hardly great

Hardly shit, either.

Anyway, we are not even halfway done with this season yet. There are no certainties yet. The only inter-team battle where one driver has established superiority over the other is at Mercedes, and even that one can be turned on its head before the year is up.

For me, it wasn't just his results, but his aggression. His podium in Oz was astonishing as he was so slow. Could easily have finished 6th in the race as well.

Yes, he's had well-documented problems with the tyres. As has Alonso, but he's been able to drive around those problems to an extent.

Felipe was not slow in Montreal. He was only 2 tenths off of Alonso in qualifying, and his times on new tyres during the race were comparable to Alonso's times on new tyres, which is more special because Alonso was on lighter fuel when he put his new tyres on.

Had he not tried to win the race in the first two corners, he may have been the one who ended up in 3rd. But Alonso did, credit to him, and it's a case of waiting to see what the Valencia upgrade does.

This is the difference between the two drivers. Felipe is not any slower than Alonso at their respective peaks, when they have a perfect car and set-up, but his operational window is far smaller than Nando's. Alonso can make a average or a bad car work for him.

If this Valencia upgrade makes the car easier to drive for both of them, then Felipe will move up relative to Fernando because he has more to gain from it. And if Alonso keeps making these mistakes...who knows?

I see where you're coming from, I really do.

By the way, Hamilton's win impressed me a lot. For the first time, he drove with aggression and intelligence in winning a race. He lasted about 40 laps on the prime tyres - so much for being a tyre wrecker.

Well Hamilton's had to learn, especially after last year.

He's a much better driver now then when he won the world championship.

Yeah, Better than before but don't take too much out of it since bridgestones are built to survive. Also, consider Schumacher doing 30+ on soft.

I thought his tires were done when button was catching him then he put in a fastest lap to send a message, then he backed off to bring it home.
Good job by both mclaren drivers perfect race.

It did help him how Mclaren seemed to make the tyres last longer than any other cars out there. Just because once he made his tyres last doesn't mean he can do it all the time now, im still convinced he will destroy more in the future it's just the way he drives.

9/10. Its F1, you gotta have atleast 1 SC to spice things up. But the beginning was great.

Not desperate, just realistic. He isn't going to be a race driver after this season. So he might as well try to get his Mclaren test seat back.
