That's two years in a row, then.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

He was at Silverstone last week, presumably visiting Force India.

They must have told him the deal was off.

I change my guess now, Sutil will take the seat, assuming he's the guy with most cash to bring in and Ferrari's 2014 engine deal isn't that good for FI

Then again, people also invent names because they want to ... Jacky 'Ickx' for example, which sort of came about by accident, he was originally like Malcolm X, only Belgian, and with less political motivations.

Huh? Either I've missed something completely or I just don't get the joke :p

Years ago when I used to read such things, I read that before Jacky Ickx's first race he went to sign on, but decided he didn't particularly like his surname of Bernard, it was quite bland and common, so he placed an X, which people began to pronounce in French as 'Ickx' ...

Isn't Bernard his middle name?

It is, and as far as I know his father was called 'Ickx' as well.

You can't go changing your guess when the announcement has been about as good as made.

I've just spent the past 1hr and 45 minutes watching this.

Thought I'd share it, as I hadn't seen it yet (most of the vid & F1 freaks probably will, I guess), but it's quickly become one of my fav racing-related vids.

, the problem with such kind of videos is that they kind of cut the enthusiasm for the present F1, at least that's what happens to me

The looks of this year's cars, the even more agressive tires and the HD onboards made me create an excitment for this year, so I'm slowing down on watching past F1 to not ruin that. But thanks for the video, as I added it to my favourites' list to watch it some other time

British Father and Thai mother. I can't remember if he was born in Thailand or the UK but he can chose which one he wants to race for and he has chosen Thailand.

Kobayashi was mugged at gunpoint at last year's USGP.

Could have been his father? I remember reading the story a few years ago ... did read it on the internet, but it wasn't somewhere obviously dubious. Oh well ...

He was on a talkshow on FujiTV last night and he said that he was mugged on the beach in Texas.

What we need now is J.Morelli to give a fair, unbiased and non-emotional contribution to this discussion...

...oh wait!

Guys, could you please tell me, how many official (manufacture, or how to explaint it better) teams are in F1 in 2013?
McLaren and Lotus are private teams, or official teams of the manufacturer? Ferrari and Mercedes are surely, but how about others?

Ferrari, Mercedes.

Marussia and Caterham in a way, but the ownership is complex and not strictly a manufacturer team.

You can make cases for all but Red Bull, STR, Force India, Sauber and Williams. Even then Renault still has a large involvement with Red Bull.
