You know they were completely entitled to give Lewis a penalty right? A big part of that rule is for safety reasons, and it doesn't matter if it's braking zone or straight, weaving around with a car that is trying to line up a pass is dangerous. It is also of course completely illegal. They would not be "idiots" for penalising someone for breaking the rules, but rather Lewis should consider himself extremely lucky only to get a slap on the wrist for it.

7. We saw some good overtaking in the first half. The mixed up strategy's were good (some people going long on first stint, some the other way round) and some close racing until the end between Hamilton and Sutil, and Massa, Button and Alonso.

It won't get any better than this in a full dry race with the current cars and rules.

I think Lewis should have been penalised for the weaving, Im actually amazed he wasn't.

Had he made 2 moves I'd say it was a marginal call & a warning was proberly right but to weave across the track 4 times to me is crossing the line & should have been penalised.

Anthony Davidson got quite worked up about it on the radio commentary.

Vettel has escped penalty for passing Trulli under the yellow flags:
http://www.fia.com/en-GB/mediacentre/f1 ... ent-40.pdf

Quote:
"Having received a report from the Race Director that Car 5 Sebastian Vettel overtook Car 18 Jarno Trulli whilst yellow flags were displayed at the approach to Turn 4, the Stewards, having viewed video and telemetry evidence and heard evidence from the Driver and Team Representative, find that the Driver did breach Article 2.4.5.1 b) of Appendix H of the International Sporting Code.

However, the Stewards, having noted that the Driver made a very large reduction in speed through the yellow flag area and that he understood that Car 18 was slowing with an obvious problem, DECIDE in accordance with Article 16.2 a) of the Formula One Sporting Regulations to impose no penalty."

rightful decision. Imagine what a farce if Vettel had been penalised for that.

6/10. Good battles here and there but a bit boring at times and no rain.

Was a clutch problem for Alonso:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82694

Quote:
"On the formation lap my gearbox broke and I had no clutch during the race, so I had to brake in a weird way.

"I had to first gear down and then push the throttle hard so it would engage the gear for that corner.

"So it was probably the hardest race of my whole life in terms of driving, because I had to improvise for every corner. But even so we were going to get a few points, which in the end was not possible because of the engine."

I gave it a 9 - for being a dry race on a Tilke track, it kept me interested beginning to end.

The diffuser on the Renault is huge... No wonder people have trouble passing Kubica.

I give it a 5. This race is the definition of lukewarm.

This certainly wasn't an easy one. I voted for Alonso because he handled the gearbox problem quite well. Shame he blew up with two laps to go.

Kept me interested throughout... Lots of battles and passing, and some really great drives by people like Hamilton, Sutil, and Alonso. A surprising attrition rate as well. All in all an unexpectedly good race - a 7 from me.
