2019 Williams stat:

George Russell has only finished higher than 15th three times (and Kubica once).

2018 Williams stat:

Sirotkin finished higher than 15th seven times.

Stroll finished higher than 15th thirteen times.

How could they have gotten it so wrong this year?!!! :8:

I think what's more incredible about that stat is that, despite the bleak numbers, it's still massively obvious that Russell is doing an amazing job in that shit heap. I'd love to see him in something more capable.

Williams have Mercedes engines, making the whole situation worse

They probably should switch to Ferrari engines now, might give them an immediate second or two :8:

I just hope they're spending all their money on investigating the 2021 rules (which will probably be 2022 by the time the FIA get around to rubber stamping them) as its clear they can't design a current car for shit

The driver born in 1969 must be Schumacher. It's rare for drivers to continue racing into their 40s.

My first guess for 1988 would have been Jaime Alguersuari, but after a bit of searching, I think it must be Buemi?

Russel has been very impressive this year for sure and deserves better. Would've actually have been nice to see him in that Haas or even the second Alfa Romeo but unfortunately won't happen due to his Mercedes ties. A good progression for him would've been to move up to the Force India seat but unfortunately won't happen while Daddy Stroll is in control.

Yep. Amazingly the last drivers born in 1969 and 1971 (Schumacher and De La Rosa) all drove in F1 12 years after the last driver born in 1970 (Pedro Diniz, retired 2000). Even the last driver from 1972 retired in 2011 (Barrichello)

I got thinking about this after discovering that the last driver to drive in F1 that was born the same year as me was Gutierrez 3 years ago. It's surprising how these little gaps appear. Similarly there are no drivers in the field born in 1995 this year after Sirotkin lost his drive, and in the current climate it's possible he may be the last one

Will be interesting to see who the first driver born in the 2000s will be, and if he or she will race in F1 alongside the last driver born in the 1970s (Raikkonen)

if you consider 2000's starting in 2000 Juri Vips could be the next one, even though his chances are minimal at the time, but after the superlicense changes, we must wait a while until a driver born after 2001 can take a F1 seat

Apparently the big rumour coming out of Sochi is that McLaren are going to ditch Renault and hook back up with Mercedes from 2021

It's five years since they split and amazingly McLaren haven't been on the podium since. Wonder if this will help them get back to the top - they've been heading in the right direction

So does that mean Williams or Racing Point will lose their engines? Good God if Williams have to switch to Renault it will probably be the end of them

Yeah it won't be long until the French board has had enough of their shitshow in F1.

Probably tought that their IT privilege would protect them that they even dared to pin up a poll signed & dated for the whole headquarters to see, thinking to get away with it as a joke :slaphead:
