Why not? You get a red flag for passing the red light in the pits, but only a DT when you pass the SC. You have to look what the advantage is for a driver. The advantage Hamilton took, a DT was not the right decision. A 10 second stop/go would be a lot better.

I agree with Briatore. Hamilton really got away with it.

The stewards sure took a long time to penalize him though.

I rated it 4, it was a decent race despite the horrendous track.

The best: Kobayashi's two last laps. :flag:

Not the first time they've taken a long time to penalise someone.

Can remember Montoya who was black flagged during the USA GP at Indy 2004, after switching cars too late. I can't remember the excact lap, would be weird if I did, but somewhere around 3/4 of the race he got the black flag for something that happend at the start.

FIA said back then that they were "too busy" because of Ralf Schumacher's big accident.

And Montoya was a crybaby, "I was risking my life out there for no reason".

Wasn't it a starter motor problem?

He was disqualified on lap 57 of 73 laps, just when he went out after pitting. That was quite late, as he wasn't even allowed to start that race!

Don't know exactly what happened to his car that day aynmore. His car didn't start and then he ran to his spare car in the pits. Not an usual way to start a GP. :p

For his credit, that was true on a raceday that had a driver briefly unconscious and evacuated with back injuries.

To find this wallpaper (and others of Valencia and the 2010 season) see www.f1club.be at the bottom of the page.
