shitpost of the day: as soon as a driver wins the championship mathematically, he goes home and lets the rest of them race the remainder of the season for other championship positions. Make it mandatory to give that seat to the reserve driver - that may also spice up the constructors championship in years with dominant cars.

I totally get it but it would also deny any champion from breaking records.

I know you're being silly shitposting, but imagine being a Verstappen fan from Japan, Brazil or Las Vegas who doesn't get to see their idol on track.

Now I'm reading rumours that Perez will be replaced, but by Fernando Alonso :?

That would be hilarious if Alonso goes to Red Bull. That most definitely wouldn't end well.

Has anyone told Red Bull that Alonso's last win was more than 10 years ago? Or that his championships came 17/18 years ago?

I'm OK if it's the devious pot-stirring Alonso that goes to RedBull, not the wholesome corporate Alonso we currently have at Aston.

That would be such a shitshow if it was the old Alonso, not so much the new one.

dunno if that will happen if Honda is still bitter about Alonso

Earlier this week, the UK Foreign Office updated its travel advice for the UAE, to reflect the assessment that terrorist attacks against Western targets were now 'very likely'.

While this is not a warning against all but essential travel, it has prompted speculation that next month's grand prix may be cancelled.

FIA Reaction: Everything is completely safe but due to some technical glitch all tickets by fans from western worlds have accidentally been canceled. Also, dont look at the smoke plumes from the explosions which arent explosions btw.

I feel sorry for those paid supporters who cannot watch a race and still earn some money to play fanboys

Proposed sprint race format for next season:

Friday: 1 FP and sprint qualifying
Saturday: sprint race in the morning, normal qualifying afternoon
Sunday: main race

The fans don´t like sprint races. Let´s do exactly the same, except in a different order...

So ~100 minutes F1 on Friday, 90 minutes on Saturday and ~100 minutes on Sunday.
Remember when there was 3 hours F1 on Friday, 2½ hours on Saturday (45min FP3 & FP4 + QLF) and maybe even Warm-up on Sunday combined with the race.

And ticket prices still are going up despite you seeing less.

2003 had 4 hours of track action on Friday. 2 hours testing for teams their third driver, then 1 hour free practice and qualifying 1.

They should go back to that, giving the third drivers something to do and fans more to watch.

One more season of sprints, it's getting pushed from the main event on Saturday evening to the Saturday morning now, so less people will watch it. Media will ignore it since pole for the grand prix is more important, so hopefully in 2025 it will be gone

they'll claim that less track time is good because cars and components will have less strain

More like they’re polluting less by running less.

Pretty soon F1 will be a two day event with an hours practice on Saturday morning, qualifying that afternoon and race on the Sunday, gotta be sustainable you know, their ESG score is so important to them they actually have an ESG officer whose sole job is doing the mental gymnastics required for a good ESG score.

TBH you don't need much more than that, F1 has too much practice. Fill the rest of the schedule with support series.

I remember when I was at Berlin E-Prix this year, it was so annoyed that there was only FE cars on track. I didn't know what to do for most of the time... I want to go for some Blancpain / Italian GT-F4 events, there's ton of racing all day long

I had the same experience at the London E-Prix. 3 hours between qualifying and the race with absolutely nothing to see. And more expensive than BTCC which is wall to wall racing all day.
