reading vdgarde's column, he reminds me a lot of albers (the car this, another driver that, bad luck, really unlucky etc etc).

Ryan's random fact.

Seeing as Heikki seems certain not to the WDC this season, he is set to become the first driver whose first win was at the Hungaroring not to win the title 3 seasons after that first win.

You can clearly see that Kobayashi has done well since getting into F1. You cannot say the same for D'Ambrosio. The car isn't great and having a couple of good qualifying sessions against Glock doesn't mean anything.

I hardly think anybody can make an impression in a Virgin

Agreed, BUT he is right! Just think about beginning of the season where he was crashed out 2 times by Bianchi, or in Spa behind the SC. That are just 3 examples, he had a lot of bad luck this season (but hey, I'm Dutch :p )

Cool fact. Hill won in '93, champion in '96. Alonso won in '03, champion in '05 and Button won in '06, champion in '09.

Also, while checking that fact, realized that Damon Hill finished in the podium in all but 3 starts at the Hungaroring, being '92 (his 2nd career start) the only race which he finished outside of the points. That track it certainly fitted Damon really well. He did had the best car from '93 to '96 though.

It's actually Alonso's 2006 title win that makes the "fact" work. From

I know.

But back to my original point which was how can GvdG believe that D'Ambrosio is doing well in F1?

I've received today an e-mail from Maria Pia Rocca, Imola's general secretary telling me that there are high chances that Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari can reintegrate F1's schedule in a near future.

As I'm a great Imola enthusiast sometimes I try to contact them and actually this is the first time they confirm to me that there are growing chances the circuit can return to the F1 circus, so that's amazing! I knew there were some rumours in the press like two weeks ago announcing the same but reading that from Imola directly it's better. Hopefully in 2013, I'm almost sure Imola will be back!

faccio seguito alla Sua richiesta per informarla che al momento non ci sono probabilità che ritorni la Formula Uno a Imola. Speriamo nel tempo.

Migliori saluti.

To me, the e-mail says the opposite. Of course, she hopes for the future, but we're always hoping for the things to change.

Oh my bad, my italian reading skills are not very accurate. :p But anyway, Imola - despite all the tragedies, layout changes and stuff is actually one of the circuits that should be mandatory in F1's schedule.

Some brief news:

- Buemi starts his 50th race this weekend
- Apparently the Indian circuit is reminiscent of Korea's progress. Going muddin' again then
- Finnish newspaper says Kimi wants to do WRC, Le Mans, Daytona 500 and Indy 500 next year
- Hulkenberg says Force India is his only chance: relying on Sutil going elsewhere (Williams)
- Like in 2010, Vettel will receive the RB7 as a present if he wins the title (minus the engine)

Sorry no, it was conducted in a PR session with some of Ferrari's sponsors.

I hope those rumours are true. Would be awesome to have a 21st century driver going for the Grand Slam of Motorsports.
