Finally DC gets off the fence?

Despite trying to squirm his way out of giving an opinion during the commentary even though Brundle was trying to press him for an opinion a couple of times?

Only good thing about the TV Deal for next year would be the opportunity to avoid his bland non-colour commentary.
He's basically just good for giving Brundle thinking time and that's it.

He's awesome. And nobody can be "as great as a Mark Blundell style" anything given that man can't string a full English sentence together.

Blundell was on a Question of Sport the other day. He was fucking awful.

He really was. All the F1 questions were dead easy and he got them all wrong. According to him, the driver who got his first victory on his 110th start at Brazil in 2003 was Irvine. And Nico Hulkenburg drove for Renault at Spa in 2010.

Reminds me so much of this:

[youtubeidiot]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fusl0zPfD44[/youtubeidiot]

DC is too tied to modern F1 to bother to dare offer an opinion that might upset his Red Bull pay Masters.
Or his old mates at Mclaren
Or his Mercedes employers in DTM
Or one of the many other myriad connections he still has to the sport.

This is in contrast to Brundle in 1997 who thought "To hell with you all, you didn't re-hire me I'm going to give you the slagging you deserve, if you deserve it"
DC for whatever reason doesn't want to do that...

I guess it might be the difference between retiring amicably and getting shafted by EJ in favour of two young drivers...

Biased much? :p I just find him so dull, he has got an amazing personality, great sense of humour, but none of that comes out when he commentates, all of the humour comes from MB.

Wasn't Blundell hosting a show that reviewed caravans at one stage?

No, not biased. I never liked DC as a driver, and always found him to be pro-Red Bull to irritating levels (and I say that as a Red Bull fan, even though I understand why he is so pro RB). However he has shown himself to be a brilliant commentator, especially for his first season. People forget how terrible and dull Brundle was in 1997, and now look at him, one of the best in the world. DC has already started better than Legard and Allen combined.

See the race in the week. just a poor 3. 1 for Rowan, 1 for Massa-Hamilton lulz, and 1 for the track.

Most boring race of the season.

Quite enjoy DC in the box, he's infinitely better than what we have had in the post MW/MB days. He can be a little dull at times but overall I think it has been a good placement.

The problem was that the tyre had become so consistent and persistent now, everybody was pitting twice at a similar window that even double DRS and a good track couldn't help.
