Following the amazing consistency of stewards this season, from Hungary onwards unsafe releases won't be punished with fines anymore. Time penalties will be enforced again.

Read into that that the stewards in Germany thought oh shit, we need LeClerc to make a race out of this and a time penalty might scupper his chances...so random bullshit penalty it is. They probably also thought a 5 second penalty would make Hamilton go Hell for leather as well, to spice things up.

Much better, no need to punish the driver.

best way to enforce against unsafe releases is take away 25 constructor championship points everytime it happens

These unsafe releases wouldn't be anywhere near as unsafe as they are if there weren't a million people stood about in the pits for no reason. Penalise this, penalise that, refuse to use common sense.

another good rule is ban pitstops after all, you race a whole race with one tire and battle for your position in the track

That's what I think too. It sucks to punish the driver for a mistake that wasn't his. But it is an important penalty and fines won't discourage teams to do this - 5000 Euros seems to be an okay price for one more position and mitigate the potential of having a race ruined.

Lose constructor points as well?

Wolff: The second seat of Mercedes for 2020 will be occupied either by Bottas or Ocon

Dont know why would they sack Bottas, he does good job to help the team win constructors.
He is within 0.300 to Lewis. I dont think Ocon will deliver. He will be clearly No2 there

Was talking about it on German GP thread - Bottas is fast enough to ensure a Constructor title for Mercedes at this moment but he is inconsistent. He has some great moments, but he can't keep his best moments for most of the season.

But what is enough today for Constructors might not be enough in the future, if Ferrari or Red Bull manages to fill the gap between Lewis and Valtteri with both cars, for example. Ferrari has drivers capable of doing so, while Red Bull has the equipment but can't do it with both cars right now.

Also, Ocon might be a cheaper option and younger high-potential drivers seem to be more interesting options than experienced drivers right now.

Wolff will do like Red Bull did in 2005. Split the second seat with a few races for Klien and others for Liuzzi

Some questions to be wondering during the summer break

- Will Hamilton be champion by more than 3 races in advance?
- Who will finish WDC in 2nd?
- Will Sainz beat Gasly in WDC?
- Will Red Bull beat Ferrari in WCC?
- Will Renault finish at least on 5th in WCC?
- Which team will finish as 9th in WCC?

As much as I would like to see Ocon back, I don't think Bottas is bad enough to be sacked entirely. He's playing his card pretty well. Maybe he should be an easier second in the standings, but that's more attributable to Max and Lewis being absolute units and consistently putting their car slightly above where it should be - way more than they may be given credit for.

I think not renewing Bottas is justified after the last 2 years but I dont see anyone available to take the spot without causing disruption in the team.

Ocon wont just settle for #2. Having either Vettel or Verstappen could bring Flashbacks to 2016. For the fans exciting but I doubt Mercedes is eager to have it again.

Proof that Liberty's brand values do not exclude the murder and dismemberment of citizens by the state.

The article is behind a paywall but the headline is all you need.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

How long has Russia been on the calendar? Or China? Or USA?
