Two sources; Ted in the pre-amble before the race yesterday and the Telegraph is now running with it as well.

You could tell from the way he was talking that he was someone happy with his future. Getting away from McLaren after this year would do that

Well how about a Porsche line-up of Webber, Button and Montoya for Le Mans 2015. A man can dream, right?

Only this year? What about 2013 and 2014 then?

To be honest, not as bad as this year. They were difficult yeaa but he was still scoring plenty of points and finishing races.

Yes and no. 2013 was a let down for Jenson as he struggled to deal with Perez and came across as a whiner too often. 2014 was even worse performance wise than 2013. For a team of the size and resources of McLaren, those two years were probably worse than the slump of 1994-1996.

It'll be a waste since Chris Evans is going to kill it.

I really think there's a real chance of them all being in the same team. Only a matter of Porsche wanting to 'risk' throwing them all together.

What a sight it would be though!

I'm glad you think so as it's pretty much nailed on if he retires from F1.

I think they would be very happy to come near the results of 1994-1996

Oh for sure, in 94 with that grenade of a Peugeot engine they still scored 8 podiums and finished 4th in the constructors, 95 (which is more comparable to Honda today) they scored 2 podiums and 4th in constructors, while in 96 they scored 6 podiums and again 4th in constructors.

Show's just how far they have fallen because they would leap at any of those results today.

So actual rumors going on:

-Grosjean to Haas (I would not understand that step)
-Button retiring and racing in WEC, Vandoorne taking his seat (man, Button needs to go to BBC or Sky, we can't just lose this guy, great person  )
-Renault buying Lotus, Maldonado probably out because Renault doesn't need a paydriver and the contract was made with Lotus
-Red Bull and Toro Rosso will go with Ferrari, with VAG entering in 2018
-Manor seals a deal with Mercedes, giving Wehrlein the possibility to race in 2016

Also, Vergne could be an option for both Renault and Haas.

so you'd rather see Button in a TV role than actually racing? :slaphead:

point 1: Lotus still not saved officially. Haas actually looks promising with their Ferrari tieup. No other real options. I understand it. It's a gamble, wait for Renault to save Lotus or secure a ride in F1. If the deal falls trough and Lotus goes bust he's left empty handed.

Point 3: Maldonado is pretty much confirmed for 2016. Renault probably wants his monies which he apparently still has.
