I don't know if he was robbed of a win, but it's the loss of points. Probably 10 in Bahrain and maybe another 10 or 15 in Spain. In a season as close as this one, it could make a huge difference come Brazil.

On the other hand, the fact that he's finished those races and still picked up points could make a difference come Brazil ... Alonso's 5th in Australia, 9th in China and 7th in Bahrain suddenly look handy enough thanks to a win and a couple of podiums.

Schumacher has been the master of this track in his younger days, no doubt if he stays out of the walls and his car makes it to the finish he can win. That's a huge if though.

His dentures will fall out by lap 20 and he'll crash trying to put them back in.

I think his China failure cost him more, because he could have actually clinched the title there if it wasn't for his / McLaren strategy mistake.

I find this statement unbelievably hilarious.

If Super Aguri built a better car Anthony Davidson could have been champion in 2008.
If Jaguar built a better car Mark Webber could've been champion in 2004.

lol, true enough. I take 2009 back ;)

oh, btw, what compound tyres does Pirelli bring to this race?

I thought it was meant sarcastic.

Anyway, so far Hamilton is doing a great job this year. Alonso surely deserves to be at the top right now, but so does Lewis. Hopefully McLaren won't cock up anymore, otherwise it might cost a titleshot and Hamilton might even leave.

if he wins he'd be a 7-time WDC, winning the 7th race as the 7th different winner while driving car #7......

He does raise a few interesting points though

I agree with everything Jacques says apart from his view on the Schumi and Senna accident in Barcelona. Bruno WAS fighting for points but on a separate strategy, which Jacques fails to acknowledge.

yeah, he surely lost many points in several races. But without Macca's errors, I don't know if Lewis would win like 3 or 4 times.

But I kinda of know what you were talking about. Normally in F1, the pole sitter wins the GP, and Lewis made some 3(including Spain) poles this year IIRC, so, with that, he would have some 3 wins indeed, on most other seasons.

Matin Donnelly will be the driver steward for the race.

Lewis certainly wouldn't have won Malaysia or Bahrain without the issues, Perez, Alonso and Vettel were simply faster. Nor Monaco. The Ferrari, Merc and RBR were all simply better. He definitely lost out in Spain though.

He's driving incredibly well but if this continues with the pit and strategy errors it'll be surprising if he manages to not get frustrated with the team. It's piss poor operationally from Mclaren. RBR have always been ahead in this part but Ferrari and Merc have leapfrogged them as well this season.

I think it'll come down to the 2010 contenders again: Vettel versus Alonso.

That Villenueve article is 100% right. He's got the Senna versus Schumacher thing wrong though, even if Bruno probably wouldn't have scored.

Of course not, Vettel & the Lotus drivers were faster. But there's a probability that he would have taken fourth or fifth without the massive cock-ups.

I don't know how long it'll be before he flips publicly, but I have a feeling that he doesn't gel well with his race engineer. That's a hugely important relationship and I don't think Andy Latham is the right man for him.

He'll flip publicly when he announces that he has signed to be Vettel's teammate next season.

That will be a shoot worth staying up for.

Mark Webber, a little pissed off.

Quote:
In relation to winning races with an illegal car, I’m happy to be called lots of things and I’m happy to have criticism about my driving and lots of stuff, but I will not take criticism in that respect. It completely pisses me off to be honest, because the car has passed every single, every single technical regulation after the race. All of the teams that were against it did not make any protest after Monaco, the car passed the test after Bahrain, the car passed the test after Monaco and now there has been a clarification on the rule, and the rule now is different and we had a car that was legal for the first part of the season and now the rule has been changed and we will start again, so looking forward to it.

Good on him.

Well if people suggest Webber won in an illegal car, then you can say the same about Hakkinen in 1998, Alonso in 2005 and many many other drivers and cars that I can't be bothered to mention.

As in the examples with Hakkinen and Alonso, plus others, the parts that were outlawed never meant the cars were illegal at any point other than after the rules clarification.

I miss Hakkinen :(, simply pronouncing it brings me back to those years when I was a Schumacher supporter and hated Mika :p

I actually switched my allegiance to MS in the early part of 1998 because I thought he was the only thing that stood between us and a complete Mclaren whitewash, and I was pretty much right.

Switched back again when it looked like Michael was the one about to dominate, probably wrong to do that as no-one could stop him! :p

Still, I was fickle as a child....
