Didnt know Spaniards hate Hamilton that much :8: . They were boooing Lewis and only him entire weekend and on drivers parade lap you could see how he pretends to smile. I felt sorry for him when he crashed as they went really mad then. Is Alonso booed at Silverstone? :P
Prior to vettels error most spaniards were watching the race in silence but since alonso has moved to the podium place the madness began.

I was surprised that they didnt cheer our TBK team Hispania at all as only spanish drivers were supported.

The GA ticket for Catalunya is a perfect one. No need to throw € for grandstands.
The biggest let down for me was the fact that the gates to enter the track after race remained close. [']:(

Schumi  8) :flag:

You don't remember winter testing in 2008? they had racist signs and everything, all because he kicked Alonso's arse as a rookie

I knew they dont like him but was surprised about the scale. Entire stands plus women and kids were involved in the boooing

No, Alonso got a round of applause at Stowe when he stopped on the track in Practice in 2008.

There was absolute no racist there. Maybe one or two guys were saying some stupid words, but people who had strange costumers where just celebrating carnaval.

Is Alonsomania in Spain any different to the Tifosi in Italy or Mansellmania back in the 80's and 90's? For example you've got to remember how Monza erupted back in 2006 when Alonso retired from the GP.

lol, I don't remember seeing the overtaking move despite the fact I did watch the whole race!

Must be a good move, going on the outside.

Alonsomania is good because at least it made spanish people interested in motorsports. Everytime there's a race in Spain you can see a lot of people on grandstands. In Italy, Tifosi can only see Ferrari. They even call Formula 1 just "Ferrari." That's so irritating.

A large proporation of new Spanish F1 fans are only interested because of Alonso and when he leaves F1 these fans will go with him. Not really fans of the sport are they? The same happened with Schumacher. Also with Mansell.

Were the German GP's THAT popular before Schuie-mania?

As a result of Schumacher's success Germany has began to produce a lot of driving talent and now make up nearly a third of the grid if I am correct. With Alguersuari waiting in the wings and more Spanish drivers in lower formulae whose to say the SpanishGP won't retain a lot of it's popularity post-Alonso? The German GP's took a small hit post-Schumacher but were still very crowded and popular. No?

Actually they were. Car racing has a huge history here in Germany while Spain is more a motorbike country.

The old Hockenheimring was also a great track. Not that it produced that brilliant races, but it was cool to have a race with such long straights, it was 'unconventional', which made it great. And then when they entered the stadium section that was pretty cool. A real pity they changed it into what it is now, not a bad circuit, but now it's just one like the others.

I agree totally with that. Also, I know some drivers did not like it. However, it was a real test of the machine, and that's missing a bit these days.
