Zak's having the time of his life up on the podium, love it. Couldn't be more of a contrast to Ron Dennis :lol:

funny that if you consider the many blunders from McLaren alone, this one could be the title for Norris either

but they are having a nice momentum thay they didn't had in the past seasons

Much better than 2023, but still a bit disappointing.
Can't wait for 2025 and see Mclaren dominate the championship.

Lewis also pulled a great performance despite not having even the 3rd best car. He's still has that sharp racecraft

Yeah it's a bit weird, but still it's good if F1 manages to celebrate properly some legacies like this. It's anti-climactic letting these end without something a bit special. They didn't do it for Schumacher, or Vettel, next in line will need to be Max if he leaves RedBull (hopefully in as good terms...)

The luck in 2024 was that 4 different teams won several races. It's a lot more difficult if there are only 2 teams dominating. A mistake is punished a lot more then.

so that's a wrap for this season. All there is left now are some tests that nobody really cares about, and wait for news about the future of Perez.

I guess scrutineering cleared all cars so we can confirm McLaren title, now Williams has the biggest drought

yeah saw a video by The Race yesterday about how they managed to pull this one

anyway, now after this final one is time for more facts and stats

.4th win for Lando Norris;
-equal Carlos Sainz and 3 other drivers to rank 56 overall;
-only 2nd time he wins after leading all the laps;
-1st win for a car that isn't Mercedes or Red Bull since 2012 (Kimi Raikkonen for Lotus);

.8th pole position start for Lando Norris;
-overtakes Surtees, Patrese and Button to rank 37th overall;

.10th consecutive time a pole position starter has won in Yas Marina, equaling Barcelona record from 2001-10;

final season stats yet to come, wait a bit

Wow. That really does tell you how bad this track is, even after the changes. I guess that streak nearly ended in 2021, though. :lol:

Yea I watched it after posting my comment, and I think it's a little less impressive now given how equal the engines have to be. But still cool nevertheless!

This made me chuckle. What are the odds?

To expand on this, in both cases the Red Bull WDC recovered to sixth place, and Perez retired after a first-lap collision in what was his final race for that team :8:

Think Ferrari are missing from the first win since Lotus 2012 stat?
