Hopefully it'll do better than the Supertouring version in the 90s. I doubt it's going to be very high profile though.

Does somebody have footage from the NATCC? Never really saw something about it.

One member (PorscheFanNo1?) posted something from it on old tbk, haven't seen anything else. Every race was televised on ESPN2 in 1996, and a couple were live on ABC Wide World of Sports, dunno what happened with coverage in 1997.

Someone has posted many of the videos on Youtube, though most of them are the classic "Hey lets record my TV with my camera"...

For a series just starting out, I think that pretty good.

OT - I thought that CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motorsports) would have had a copyright to the name ATCC (Australian Touring Car Championship).

I know it's now V8 Supercar, but the winner of the championship is still the ATCC Winner.

Oh, one more thing. Their goal is to have every race streamed live on the internet.

I don't think you can copyright a set of initials, which is what the ATCC is.... as well as the Australian Touring Car Championship, there was an Asian Touring Car Championship a few years ago also...

Similiarly in Australia there are two ATCC's awarded, the CAMS one which has run since 1960 and is awarded to the V8Supercar winner, and also the AASA Australian Touring Car Championship, run at the AMRC for touring car challenge cars.

On North American Super Touring, here is clip from Toronto 1997, complete with a lap onboard from Neil Crompton

ATCC is not new, they where around last year and the year before IIRC. Had some dealer backed Subaru's running in it.
