Anyway looking forward to this one, even if the track sucks.

Given the right circumstances, Symmons can produce great racing as shown below

Oh I mean from a driving perspective more than anything, I just never enjoyed it (on racing games) and I have to admit the last couple of years were a little lackluster unless my memory is shit (which it is) in which case if last year was epic then I love this track!!

/sneaks away.

The chances of Pukekohe returning to the series are pretty much nil, the owners of the track prefer horses and as such the track is slowly running into a state of disrepair, and with Hampton Downs which is brand new and just down the road it'd make sense if it went anywhere it'd go there.

Todays race was fairly boring.

For soft tyre race standards, it was. But it certainly wasn't the worst race I've seen.

Oh, and Greg Murphy finished 3rd today. Not bad for a driver who apparently sucks...

Great start, Winterbottom gets into Bright trying to pass them but they both stay on track, Lowndes passes both, then Winterbottom squeezes by Lowndes again.

Lowndes with gearbox problems.

Courtney gets a drivethrough penalty for passing Whincup with the slightest of contact. What a bunch of shit. V8 Supercars, meet DTM.

Edit: Check that, penalty was for an earlier incident with Holdsworth, didn't see that one.

Winterbottom wins over Dumbrell and Bright, Courtney ends up extending his championship lead over Whincup slightly. Pretty good race.

Jason Bright had a big crash when his brakes failed on the main straight and nearly rolled over the fence in the gravel trap at turn 1

Just saw qualy 1 on the idiot box. Whincup was very impressive.

And it was the second time in two race weekends that Caruso went off.

Well done to him. He definetely won't retire now.

I remember back around 2002 he was touted as the next big thing. Seems only recently that he's started to live up to expectations.

He still has the bad habits from his tempestuous racing days, and I never used to like him, but after what happened to his brother, whats happening to his dad, to win his first race now is quite an achievement. He is the first real bolter to win a V8 race since Holdsworth in '07

Oh it was Larry Perkins. Perkins signed him to drive at Bathurst in 2002 and Larry and the commentators were going on about him being a great driver. He was pretty sucessful in the development series. Speaking of which, how many drivers have become successful in the Development series and become reguarly succesful in the main game? Only Winterbottom comes to mind. Canto, Owen, D'Alberto, and there must be a few others haven't been that succesful.
