So DTM will also have a DRS detection zone, it will be activated when you're two seconds behind another car - but it can be used anywhere on the track.
Furhermore there will be one set of option tyres.

:p

The good thing is, it sounds like it won't make passing as easy as in F1 where cars wil just fly past you.

I like the thought of DRS being available anywhere on the track, even if it looks like something broke when activated. Willing to give them a chance on this one.

Ekström has hinted on soon-ish retirement. He's 34 now, said he probably won't be racing at 39.

DTM confirms DRS:

"Drivers will be able to use the DRS when they are within two seconds of the car ahead.

Each driver will only be allowed a single use of the DRS per lap, but there will no restriction on which part of the circuit this occurs."

It's probably obvious that I'm not a fan of DRS, but this is a far better way of using it than F1 does.

Why does DTM copy pretty much everything F1 does ?

I don't mean it in a bad way, but they copy a lot of rule changes.

Even though it is shitty on TV, you do get value for your money at the track.

See that's the issue I take with some of these championships. 2 support races? That's awful. I prefer 5,6 7 support races and the main event. I feel people are getting short changed if there are only 3 races on a Sunday.

2 events, yeah that is pretty low. Always had positive experiences with DTM at Zandvoort (haven't gone last 3 years because of loss of interest for the series so don't know the current situation).

All these changes, bringing in DRS etc, to try and aid overtaking....

Did they do anything about the number of mandatory pitstops? That might have a huge amount to do with the lack of passing too no?
