I'm sure TG is very, very hurt by the loss of Surfers' Paradise.

[/sarcasm]

There's no guarantee that A1GP will be alive by next October, so I don't see why everyone's getting excited.

there is also no guarantee that F1 is still alive next year...

you can be pestimistic about everything, but that would take away the joy :)

It's hard to be anything other than pessimistic when you couple the financial climate with the fact that A1GP haemorrhages money.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. If A1 makes it to next October in good health, then I am sure it'll be a good race. I know that. But don't get over-excited for it yet.

Yeah. There's pessimism and there's realism

Just because the A1 season has begun and the rumours have disappeared into the background doesn't mean that the threat has gone away. It is still realistic that we could go to the Autosport website to find the series has been liquidated

The series health has very much been swept under the carpet, but I can safely say that it is still in, for lack of a better term, deep shit.

Because of that, it amazes me a lot that Ferrari have signed a 6 years deal with the series. They might believe in a great recover, probably.

Well Ferrari signed a deal months ago and are partly to blame for them being in the shit to start with. Those conspiracy theories about them going in to try and get rid of it are still hanging around

Anybody know what's going on with Team Canada this year?
Will they participate in a couple of races?

The layout for the streetrace in Indonesia later on this year. Made by Tilke. Looks good for A1.

As far as I understand - no. The team is dead. Their commitment in the sport was mostly sketchy (the country/backing mostly. Not necessarily the team. They had a track or two that were free to offer to the series but there was always a hint of reluctance about it).

Then again maybe the team is still active. I haven't followed the team health this season. But I am enjoying the series as usual. Ferrari issues probably nailed the coffin regarding commitment.

That better be anti-clockwise.

Judging by the racing line through the 90 degree corners top left - it's clockwise.

I could be wrong, though.

[EDIT: Not top left. Top middle]

Sand traps also suggest clockwise, sigh.

Looks like a pretty good layout to me, A1 should get the best out of it anyway.

Not sure if it's been said yet but Autosport magazine says that China will host 2 races per season for the next 5 seasons. Hopefully Shanghai will be back! (And hopefully Chengdu wont)
