2010 IZOD IndyCar Series - Round 12

Honda Indy 200, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, OH USA

Countdown to the race start: You need JavaScript to be activated to be able to use the timer function :flag:

As the IZOD IndyCar series begins the final third of the season this Sunday at Mid-Ohio, the natural focus is on leader Will Power as he tries to hold off Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon and teammate Ryan Briscoe. Power, with four wins and six poles, owns a 50-point lead over Franchitti and is 71 up on Dixon with two road races remaining in the closing six shows. Briscoe, second here a year ago, is 96 back.

One of the interesting things to watch in Sunday's race is how drivers protect their lines. Castroneves was called for taking the inside lane, known as the passing lane, away from Team Penske teammate Will Power entering Turn 1. Mid-Ohio is one of the narrowest tracks on the circuit. Because there are 27 entries, the pit boxes have been shortened from 40 to 35 feet, which could really make things dicey during yellow flag stops.

Circuit Information:

Circuit Length: 2.4mile/3.9km road course
Race Distance: 85 laps, 186.2mile/297.9km
Turns: 13

great grid in Mid Ohio, remember at the best IndyCar times. I wish JR Hildebrandt a good race and hope he can find a ride for the other races this season :) yeah

hope also for Ana Beatriz, i'm glad to see she has not run many races this season :( that's bad for Ana

Milka Duno is once again in everyones way.

Shes currently 2.5 seconds off Dracone who is in an Indycar for the first time ever.

I think this is the last year with Milka. IndyCar is in the next year no longer dependent on the money from her / CITGO.

Bad for Dale Coyne, but he survived without her money even if only with one car or an other pay driver.

If i watching the cars, not many cars without sponsors. That's good, we have a 27 cars grid, perfect.

10 Minutes to go, Dracone is only one second behind of Danice *smile*

Well she's not as slow as she was but Mid Ohio tends to be less fair for passing. Remember this is where she had the spat with Danica

Tags and Carroll both ran off in the last lap of practice.

Graham Rahal is fastest of the session.

That is a really naive statement. You can always use more money.

24 cars within a second more or less. Has Hildebrand raced in Indycar before? I know it's only practice but that's a good effort.

in the last years the IndyCars has more problems how in this year with sponsors and full grids. let's hope to continue they recover year for year. Then it is (Milka & of course - unfortunately - CITGO money) no longer needed as field filler.
of course, more and more money is good for this series and the teams. perfect is Milka is gone and CITGO remains in the series.

BUT, 4.5 seconds are good for Milka =) *big smile*
