That was a good race. Great racing, poor pitstops, crap safety crew and Helio's hair still intact.

Great race, bit of an anti-climax finish mind. Very glad that Simona is okay after that scary incident. :)

TK wasn't happy with Danica post race & its understandable.

She drove a great race tonight but if she knew TK was there and moved to block like it looked then she needs to be pulled before IRL officials and told that sort of thing is unacceptable.

Slowly moving to defend your line as others were doing all night is fine but quickly jinking to block like that shoudn't be tolerated, especially on an oval like Texas.

She won't be in Indycar next year anyways. Her and Michael are starting to butt heads. Dale Jr. will buy her out and she will be in NASCAR full time in 2011. Mark my words.

Unlike their driver, HVM aren't happy with the safety crew.

Like I said, Simona is a very optimistic and positive person. In every interview she sounds excited and happy about IndyCar racing. She simply took the positive outcome instead of complaining about the safety crew, which will probably have a serious talk with IRL officials.

Let's be fair, the IRL safety crew is usually spot on dealing with incidents, getting to the scene oh so quickly. But this was one major cock up.

Mattzel's cap of the incident:

If I was a driver, and I went around criticising the safety crew and then I had a really enormous accident, I would be concerned that the next time I had an accident, they might not give 100%.

I think there is a certain degree of truth that perhaps they're not used to dealing with fires, as some guy appears to have trouble opening his fire extinguisher. I've never been faced with a fire in front of me before, so I hate to go criticising people who have, but I sometimes feel that in certain occasions these days, that in these delegated responsibilities that sometimes people want to do what they were delegated, as opposed to what would seem the right thing to do.

I had a grandparent in the fire service, and one of friends just retired a few years ago, and he said that in his time that there was people doing the office based jobs who were more concerned that the correct procedures were followed in putting the fire out than the actuallly achieving the correct results.

We've had two notable cases, not involving the fire service, in the UK that I can think of. A female PC came across a boy drowning in a pond. She called for back-up as she had not received her water-safety training. A few minutes later, some guy ignored her shouts not to enter the pond, and rescued the boy from what was not particularly deep water, but the boy was already dead. And of some guy having a heart attack who opened the door to allow the paramedics in. When the ambulance got there they found the door open and completed a 15 minute hazard assessment form while the guy died inside.

I just wonder whether that is the situation in this crash and moreso the Czech crash.

Something I didn't include in my last post about Danica's block & TK's 'What goes around, comes around' comment.

I saw him do something very similar to Danica early on at Indy. She had a big run on him exiting turn 2 as he'd got held up by a sower car, She pulled to the inside to try & pass & he suddenly jinked right & nearly put her on the grass, She backed off & lost a ton of spots. ABC never showed that on the TV Broadcast but did play her radio where she said 'Tony just screwed me' or words to that effect.
