In short, AutoGP is Euroseries 3000 rebranded, using the most recent A1GP Lola chassis, upgraded by Coloni. I read somewhere that the drivers pay the championship for the ride rather than the teams, or something odd anyway. Does Tappy have a rich relative or something? Cannot be cheap for him to do this and superleague..

Anyway, hoping for some good racing; as long as theres coverage.

I thought the odd thing was the very decent prices you could earn

Where the hell does Gravity is getting their money from?

Post subject:  Re: 2010 AutoGP Championship

drivers with more money than talent like Ho Ping Tung and Charouz I guess :p

they'll have better contacts with the business world then a normal team because they are a management bureau

also private investors will have their part,if one of the drivers ends up with a nice salary in F1 eventually they will have to give a part of that salary back to Gravity, which generates an income

When you look at there structure (which I got from their site), you can see that 1/3 of the personal is taking care of the sponsors full-time

Driver Management
Driver development
Career planning
Raceteam management

Driver contracts

With a suspected broken leg, it looks like you can scrub Natacha off Charouz-Gravity's driver lineup then.. :(

Indeed, and of course this modified Lola B05/52 was used all last season in Euroseries 3000 already.

Still seems pretty low profile, and unless there's a run of last-minute entries, grid sizes look like they will remain small, despite the quality teams coming in and a handful of decent drivers. If Pantano doesn't dominate this then... well, with F1 teams showing no interest after his GP2 title he's nothing to lose really...

Auto GP is offering real prize money if you're successful... it's a good concept I'd like to see throughout racing, but I think the market's too crowded for Auto GP to become a major player just yet. Superleague seems to have benefitted the most from the A1GP fallout.

Quote:
Whatever team he will choose, the driver will be sure that the budget for the full season (6 events with two races each) will be fixed at 380.000 euros thanks to a contract that he will sign directly with Auto GP Organization.

Quote:
By pushing their talent to the maximum and beating their rivals on track, drivers can battle for their share of an unprecedented 1,200,000 Euro prize fund. This simple idea of racing for prize money is long established in American racing, and is now set to become reality in Europe when the series begins in 2010.

This staggering prize is combined with a low cost formula that will give drivers a unique chance of success, whilst showcasing their talent and ultimate will to win.

Each race weekend has a prize fund 200,000 Euros, shared between the top six drivers in the classification. This will be calculated by totalling the points scored by each driver in the weekend’s two races.

I don't think AutoGP want's to be a F1 feeder series
I think they rather aim to be a SLF-light series

If these things have Judd V8's or V12's, this might be one of my top series.
