I really have to say that the start from Vietoris was one of the best I ever saw.

I'm not surprised. D'Ambrosio was quite lairy out of Lesmo 2 and the camera angles weren't great and I think he moved line twice.

for commercial purposes this name is better
I don't really care about what name it gets, as long as it has good potential

Well that won't happen...

Quote:
Group Lotus announces ART deal

Lotus Cars has announced that it will enter into a partnership with multiple champion squad ART Grand Prix in GP2 and GP3 next year.

The deal is with Group Lotus itself rather than Tony Fernandes' Lotus Racing Formula 1 team, which is expected to switch to using the historic Team Lotus name - not owned by Group Lotus - from 2011.

Looks like Tony Fernandes made Lotus realize they should be active again in motor sport (Looking at there IRL/GP2 and future sportcars involvement)

Although it looks to me that they aren't "friends" since they are clearly distancing themselves from the current F1 team. Strange situation. I guess we will see 4 Green-Yellow cars on the grid.

I should imagine they've only got permission to use the Lotus name in the series they were already in - F1, F3 (with Litespeed) and WSR (Lotus Junior is Mofaz), especially as Lotus Cars is in with ART now

It's quite a complicated situation. Rumour has it that, on the contrary to the merry picture being paid by the media, Fernandes had to buy the rights to the Team Lotus name in order to keep the Lotus name in F1 next year because Lotus Cars wasn't going to allow them to use the Lotus Racing name. This latest news points in that direction. It does indeed look like Lotus Cars is becoming more active in racing, what with the Elise Trophy and the involvement with KV in the IRL, which isn't particularly surprising considering Dany Bahar's in charge of the company now. You'd think it would make more sense to go with Team Lotus but apparently not - wouldn't surprise me if there are issues behind the scenes
