Wikipedia wrote:
The modern-day Formula Three Euroseries was inaugurated in 2003 in a collaboration between two of Europe's national governing bodies for motorsport – the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA) in France and the Deutscher Motor Sport Bund (DMSB) in Germany.

The new partnership between the FFSA and DMSB spelled the end of national Formula Three in France with the closure of the French F3 Championship, but Germany's national championship was effectively supplanted by the creation of the Recaro Formel 3 Cup, though the DMSB initially attempted to block its creation. This lower-status series was formed by ADAC, the F3V (Germany's Formula Three Association) and a few key German teams (such as Bertram Schäfer Racing) that chose not to participate in the new Euroseries. BSR's owner Bertram Schäfer acts as the series' promoter.

The FFSA and DMSB hold joint responsibility for determining the sporting regulations of the Euroseries. The organisation and promotion of the championship is handled by ITR, which performs the same rôle for the DTM touring car championship.

Mika Maki is staying? That's interesting. Another likely championship contender then.

Yeah, he dropped out of GP2 Asia to concentrate on winning F3. According to his Wiki page, he'll be joining Signature, although the 2009 F3E page hasn't confirmed it

Not really Euroseries news but F3 news in general. The Masters of Formula 3 will return back to Zandvoort on 13-14 June (Because of Zandvoort A1GP race will move on to begin 2010).

Interesting piece of news on Bottas' homepage on how testing's gone for him so far. Blimey, if he's able to show that kinda pace during the season, then he might well be within a chance of clinching the title in his first year of F3.
He used to be my teammate in LFS, although he hasn't shown up for more than a year now. Probably too busy I'd imagine. ;)

Jake Rosenzweig joins Carlin

American racer Jake Rosenzweig has signed with Carlin Motorsport for the 2009 F3 Euro Series championship. The 19 year-old former Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup driver will race with the British squad alongside Red Bull’s Brendon Hartley. Rosenzweig’s signing with Carlin follows an impressive F3 test with the team, where the young American matched the times of Carlin’s British F3 drivers at the Valencia circuit in Spain in December. With the 2009 season now quickly approaching, Rosenzweig will continue his testing programme in March in the Volkswagen powered Carlin Dallara.

tbh, I've never heard of him, so I cannot really judge him.

He drove Formula Renault Eurocup last year but wasnt very impressive (20th). But i also saw him driving at Spa with an other Formula Renault series (Italy, Swiss or so) and i believe he was with the first 3

He also was very fast during testing with F3 last year.

I read that, too. Carlin said about him "He has the raw pace and talent to be an asset to the team this year and we look forward to working with him and developing him into a front-running driver".

HBR confirmed Kevin Mirocha and Jonny Cecotto jr. So, two rookies for the Austrian team and Shaaban will drive for Prema.

Post subject:  Re: 2009 Formula 3 Euroseries Discussion

both drivers come from the ATS F3 German championship

a bit sad that the 2 drivers who overpaced them (Vervisch and Vanthoor) will propably NOT driver euroseries
Vanthoor has anounced he will stay in the ATS F3, Vervisch has still to anounce his future plans

it's all about money..
never the less, I rate Cecetto as a quite good drive

I can see Frederic Vervisch ending up at Jo Zeller Racing, he won the German championship with that team, an unbeatable combination in that series

Michele Faccin is also trying to get the Jo Zeller seat. I think it will be between Vervisch,Vietoris and Faccin.

I realy hope it will be Vervisch, afther winning the German and Asian F3 championship he realy needs to get higher up the ladder
if he doesn't get at the level of F2, F3 ES, GP2 or WSBR his career could take a sereous hit
F3 ES would be best choise as F2 and GP2 doesn't seem to be a possibility and he has allready driven WSBR

I also could see him driving for RC tbh. I dont remember why but i have him as a possibility for RC on my list xD

And the second Motopark car... who is it going to be? Not Faccin or Godinez who had a test with the team...

he has driven the Hockenheim season final with them last year, that's propably why ;)

RC is a posibility yes, too bad their cars don't have a good pace

Edit: for the people who speak Dutch and might be interested in Vervisch, I've written a little blog about his future: http://racinggeneration.be/blog/?p=39

Thanks for that. Just read a little bit on his biography, before that, I only knew him as that German/Asian F3 winner who is Belgian.

3 young and talented finns, not bad... 8)

Valtteri Bottas is said to be greatest thing since Kimi Räikkönen, who knows how much of that is true but what I've heard sounds promising, he is only real contender to F1 seat unless Mäki hits the jackpot this year since he is getting a bit old... Atte Mustonen, now there's a name I haven't heard anything of in a long time. I hope he'll deliver too. I wish there would be a stream, so I could follow since I doubt any finnish channel will show the coverage as per usual :(
