Actually, Vision and Special Ed are rumored to be moving to Grand-Am next season.

What must the prospects be if the Series proprietor bails? The Bear was told Tony, Vision and the stepson are off to do the guppies with a used Coyote and a German truck motor. Since the sisters pulled the plug, Tony’s been trying to get adopted into another racing family. Has he made it?

Translation: Tony, Vision, and Special Ed are off to Grand-Am. They'll run a Coyote-Porsche Daytona Protoype.

IndyCar finale at Homestead was watched by 268,000 viewers. Barely cracking the top 5,000 programs of the week on cable.

Lotus (the real one, not the malaysian team) considering IndyCar, GT and LeMans as possible choices to return to motorsports.

It was confirmed this week that the 2010 season opener will be in Rio indeed. IndyCar was going to publish this news on october 31st, but yesterday If I'm not mistaken their official website accidentally published the news with date of October 31st telling that Rio de Janeiro will host the first event of the 2010 IndyCar season with a street circuit. In the same day Tony Kanaan informed in his twitter this fact and confirmed it. So, welcome Rio IndyCar. The race will happen in the streets between the Botafogo and Flamengo beach, that place is indeed perfect for a street course, with the sugarloaf in the bottom as scenary.

Ouch.

So now they're compounding no-one watching on TV with no-one watching at the track too?

Do we need to add this series to the A1GP "Circling the drain" radar?

A deal hasn't even been made yet.

Quote:
Rio will try to negotiate again a IRL race.

The choice of Rio as the host of 2016 Olympic Games improved the chances of the city be the host of the Brazilian IRL race in 2010. After quitting the negotiations, the mayor will meet IRL ... to negotiate again.

The secretary Pedro Paulo Carvalho said that "they keep the position of not using public money to finance the IRL race ..., but that there is a chance of a new sponsor show up and cover the (ridiculous) costs of the IRL race."

(some crap about the fake news...)

In the first round of negotiations, IRL thought they had the power and expected the city to spend R$ 30mil (more or less US$18mil), then lowered the fee to R$ 20mil (US$ 12mil).

"The IRL came again to negotiate (after the Mayor wisely quit the negotiations), but with the costs they presented us, we will not have the "race". If they lower the costs, we are committed to reconsider. They must bring the sponsors they said they could find , otherwise there will be no IRL race here "

Holy shit, a good decision?

Maybe, if they let it race during the empty enough IRL weekends and give it proper airtime the same as Indy Lights gets (Ie no shutting the cameras off on the website when they're on track like they do with Atlantics...)

I'd rather they try to save the Atlantics though, but considering its legacy they'd probably rather it just went away.
Which is a shame as that series has a lot more history than just being a Champcar support.
Certainly has more than the 13 year history of the main series anyway.

The IRL needs a leader. The current people get what small amount of stuff they get done at a snails pace.

And also this one:

If they want a new car there should be some nice looking Ferrari designed cars lying around doing nothing shortly with some Ferrari engine's to go along with them :p
