Interestingly, Lia Block has signed for ART and the Williams academy for next season.

Doriane Pin has been snaffled up by Mercedes and will be representing them in this series. She had a decent showing in the 2 rounds of F4 SEA she did at the end of last year.

It's a surprising move, she looked like she could be in a hypercar seat within a couple of years.

Probably not mutually exclusive plans.

She's also only 20 - plenty of time for her to go back to sports cars if the single seaters don't work out, and I doubt she'll have much trouble finding a seat considering the pace she's shown

Isn't F1A/F4 one hell of a career detour when you already are Hypercar material?

Instead of creating an entire segregated series that is essentially a step down for talented female drivers, why didn't they just put the money towards a F3 or F2 team that would field female drivers?

Because then the seats would just go to the highest bidders. F1A still costs 150k to join but it's a least a *bit* more affordable than F3 and the winner gets a guaranteed spot in FRECA (the others in the top 3 can get a free spot if a team is willing to field another car). If you can't do it in FRECA, you'll probably struggle in F3 anyway.

I thought the idea was that the F1 teams that supported each driver paid for the fee? Guess not.

You won't get a female into F1 without putting them in F3 or F2, regardless of how good they are. Simple as that.

Nah, I think the F1 teams thing is to put them in their academies and stuff. Don't know if that includes paying for the season.

Speed running them into F3 doesn't work when half of these drivers come from karting or non-open wheelers. Juju Noda will be someone to keep an eye on as she's doing Super Formula, having been on Euroformula Open last year.

Lola Lovinfosse won't have a supporting F1 team but she will have the backing of F1A's new make-up sponsor, which has produced... This:

Prema will field a wild card entry in some (or all) races for local talent and they're eligible for points.

By process of being the only Saudi female driver, Reema Juffali gets it for Jeddah.

Lineup now complete. Marti and Edgar haven't been announced yet but they're in the official test sessions.

Last year there was no TV broadcast, this year all the sessions and races will be live on YouTube. No geo blocks either, apparently.

Q and races are listed, FP is apparently only on F1TV.

Russia and Belarus are the only geoblocked countries :whistling:

Fairly obvious how this season is going to go.

Why is Pin wasting her time in this series?

She's still doing full WEC season (minus clashing weekends if there are any) so what other series if not F1A.
