50/50 imo, don't think either will be penalised.

Piastri had the back end stuck out just trying to stay level with Ticktum, he didn't have the momentum. Whether or not Ticktum should have given more room, Piastri was fighting a losing battle by that point

That just needed a VSC. SC was pointless and only out to artificially bunch up the field.

It was the VSC to SC that fucked everything up, should've just gone full SC straight away, that way the drivers wouldn't have been as mandated by their delta time AND they wouldn't have given away a free pitstop

once again, race control was more worried about not trapping people in the pits and handing out penalties than dealing solely with safety of an incident

Also, once again, FUCK DAN TICKTUM

Can he get through a race without contact? The car on his inside wasn't going to vanish, but he turned across on him like he wasn't there, Ralf Schumacher style, who did that to Sato in 2004

Ticktum was great today, dunno what you're on about. He actually made the softs last and was very decisive in getting through the field. I think he'll be a contender

I honestly don't know why anyone talks him up tbh, he doesn't deserve to be in the sport (FIA will ban someone for life for throwing a front wing at another competittor but using a car as a weapon and crashing into someone else while Marshals are on track cleaning up another crash is only worth a 2 year ban apparently)

He's on like his 4th rebound chance after failing in the red bull program and if that's not enough, he acts like a twat on team radio and social media, even though his performances don't back up his level of arrogance

I'll never understand why he's still around in the sport, he's not the next big thing, he's a middle of the road driver at best that comes with a huge amount of liabilities to make working with him not worthwhile for any team.

Hopefully he'll realise this eventually and end up booted over to NASCAR to race with Ferruci, seems apt

Gianluca Petecof just had a classic 1990s-style engine blowout in F2 practice. The track is blocked by smoke.

A big engine combust for Petecof, properly vintage.

Being a bit of a farce, this session. Don't think anyone has done more than 3 laps uninterrupted.

I had to rewind and record it because I haven't seen an engine let go like that for years.

Reminds me of the Sato blow up in 2004. Lucky it didn't happen during the race

All that talk of the second group being faster came to nought.

Alessio Deledda is the first DNQ in Formula 2 since 2009, being more than six seconds off the pace...

And Dan Ticktum has been caught posting instagram lives from his cockpit in the same way Ferruci did

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

WHY DOES THIS GUY HAVE A CAREER?

Or: Why is a guy who is actually quite talented, doing everything to not have a career in close future?

If he was the next Max I'm sure Red Bull would've just about been ok with all his baggage to keep him on the program

Failing to win F2 under their backing and then being sent to Japan and finishing something like 18th and 12th and blaming everyone else but himself for his failings was the straw that broke the camels back for them tbh, and I'm surprised anyone else took the chance on him after that (or he's paying them? I'm not massively sure how much money he has)

He hasn't got enough speed to act like he's the 2nd coming and rules don't apply to him, basically

You're right. He was never going to be the next Verstappen. But he is talented enough to have a decent career in Motorsport. But even that won't work, as he shoots himself in the foot, every tme someone's giving him another chance.

BTW, just read that Deledda is allowed to race, despite having failed to qualify...
