Having not watched GP2 closely for a few years I'm not sure much about Canamassas have done. Someone care to give a brief history please? Is there a "greatest hits" video compilation on Youtube?

I am sure there was in Youtube. Search for GP2 Monza 2014 and there is a video somewhere of just of him messing up at Monza.

In which case I won't be watching GP2 next year.

As much as I dislike DRS in F1 I get why its there so I tolerate it hoping that one day rules are altered so that its no longer needed.

However the racing in GP2 is fine without DRS, Its just not needed here & if the series owners feel like the racing isn't what they want it to be then as a spec series they have the power to alter the car design to encourage & promote better racing without the need for gimmicks like DRS.

Will Buxton:

Just three years ago, GP2 Series boss Bruno Michel promised no DRS or KERS “gimmicks” to ensure pure racing.

As with most things at the moment, seems DRS in GP2 is the answer to a question nobody was asking. It’s GP3 that needs help…

Well isn't GP2 supposed to be just like F1 but bit slower. Therefore if F1 has stupid gimmicks, then GP2 must have those too. It's F1 and FIA's fault when they introduced DRS silliness in the first place.

Wonder if there's any motorsport left that has no gimmicks whatsoever (reverse grids, mandatory pitstops, parc ferme, 5-engine limit, boost buttons etc). Just simple racing. I'd predict there will be demand for such kind of world series.

Stoffel again  And only 6 seconds slower than Hamilton in FP2, has that gap ever been so small this season? I thought GP2 was usually 8 to 10 seconds slower than F1

Monte Carlo is typically the closest gap between F1 and GP2.

Pole
Rosberg - 1.15.989
Palmer - 1.20.774

Slowest
Ericsson - 1.21.732
Markelov - 1.23.347
