Nevermind.. just announced at tge track you DO keep your old time. before they said its wiped out

I don't know.

I do know it is Penske's 25th pole in the last 39 time trials at Indy. Including from 1996 to 2000, years that didn't had a Penske entry on the field.

Wow. That's just amazing. Hadn't thought about that before. And not including the super-fiasco of 1995 either.

It was only for the fast 9 though. I kinda get it, as there's not much time for the drivers to get several attempts in. No one would withdraw their speed while placed 2nd, just to get the one more chance to get the pole.
