Compared to the impact today: no it wasn't.

Kanaan's qualifying run has been thrown out. No ballast in the car.

Ahh, the over analysis begins....

Not wishing to make light of that crash at all, but that wasn't the biggest crash we'll get here all meeting long....

The car performed well and did what it should, but any value judgements shouldn't be made on just one crash, its how it performs over a series of incidents that counts.

Doing well so far though....

Yeah, exactly my thoughts too. The car did it's job in that case and Clauson can most likely rejoin the action on bump day.

By the way, IndyCar will take a backseat in favor of a bunch of Carl Edwards at 2:30 PM ET. Go here if you still want to see qualifying over the Preakness:

Wow, they're trying to get Clauson's car repaired for another run today.

If you mean Freddy's stream, then yeah racing should take priority over single car qualy.

As much as Indy is a great event I struggle to get excited by single car qualy runs, wish Freddy would have the same attitude too so we could at least watch the Nurby 24 in the picture in picture window.....

If it's just for NASCAR Practice, to hell with that! :p

Unless Hildebrand can actually win at Indy, the poor guy will always be labeled as "the one who hit the wall in the final corner".

He crashed because he was stupid, imo. He shouldn't have tried to pass that backmarker

I hope for his sake that he does win it one day, otherwise it's going to haunt him for the rest of his life.

The closing rate was too great, he had to pass him.

This whole thing could have been prevented if there was any resemblance of an apron.

Just like the guy that'll always be labeled as "the guy that took out Mario and AJ before the start of the race".
