They really don't need the SC out for that, it used to be that they'd push the car away under a local yellow but now they're just too eager to bring the SC out just to bunch up the field.

Er, not with the car right on the racing line on the exit of a corner... you saw how close some cars came to hitting him, would you want that happening with marshals there too?

Not if they have someone directing them wide. The problem is the drivers just aren't paying attention.

Which again involves a person on track with the cars travelling at racing speed. I agree that the SC is overused nowadays, but in that situation it was perfectly justified.
