Nice! Maybe we'll see each other down there.

Possibly but you'll probably see me anyhow. I'll be the one carrying my 4 year old son around all day as he's recently broken his foot.

Stoked about the 3 wide start.

Finally Indy is at Pocono, couldn't wait for this since the announcement.

Question, from the old Pocono races, witch one is more worth watching from YT feed? Please no spoilers

I don't know if it's a good idea for Fontana.

Okay, it's wide enough, but the banking...

I'm almost as excited for this race as I get for Indy. Hopefully the racing is good.

If only they'd use The Delta Force tune for the intro. That's probably the last straw to get the hype go way over the top... 8)

Neither should they ask for guidance from Jimmy Vasser

I think they learned their lesson after THAT race.

It's not the width that I'm concerned about, it's how long they can go three wide. Indianapolis is narrower, but they get away with it almost every time. Pocono is easier because they only have to get through half of the longest straightaway and coming off turn one to the second longest straightaway. Fontana could be rather difficult because of the nature of the track (the only time they could go straight at race speed is the backstretch), but it can be done.

Wasn't the '97 US 500 started 3 wide? If so, then it has been proven that it's still possible post the '96 embarrasment.

It's still so incredibly funny to hear Bob Varsha talk so highly about the drivers in the field only to get interrupted by utter chaos.

I think they decided to go 2 wide in 1997. Not sure if they went back to 3 wide after that though.
