He finished 3rd in the championship last year behind Bianchi & Frijns. No seat in GP2 for Frijns because he has no money/sponsor... Shame if that will ruin his career

Ruin his career? He's been in cars, what? 2-3 years? If anything a year off as a Sauber driver will enhance his career. He can fundraise and study the inner workings of a good F1 team while getting tons of simulator time, and get ready for the YDT.

He is Sauber's reserve so that's something, but I agree.

He's a victim of his own talent in that no-one expected him to win FR3.5 in his first year.

I'd be really surprised if Calado doesn't win it. He really impressed in 2012 and should have been third but for Valencian safety car lols and getting ill in Singapore.

Shame Frijns didn't get a seat, on the other hand a good decission, might be bad for his carreer to not drive at all but I think it's worse to drive for a team who doesn't compete for the win. My hope is on him, he's got more talent than VD Garde, Frijns should get married quickly ;)

Practice just got underway, Graphics have had a bit of a revamp.

Font's a bit on the small side which I can see been an issue on SDTV & web streams.

Also, Canamasas trying to start with Berthon. Same guy that drove someone into the wall in Spa last year and ignored the black flag in Singapore.

I know I'm biased, but Evans was pretty impressive on debut given he has mild food poisoning

Apparently Bird got a grid penalty. Was there another incident?

Ceccotto will start last.

Edit: Bird for impeding Ceccotto

Without sounding dim, but why is Cecotto allowed to start?

He was kicked out of qualifying for unacceptable behaviour, so he has not qualified for the race. Therefore, he should not be allowed to race.

Practice times I'd guess.

He's trying to claim the incident wasn't all his doing... *facepalm*

Anyone that follows former F1 doctor Gary Hartstein on Twitter, well, if you don't you should, but he said this

Quote:
Hate to say it but I'd send Cecotto home. And next idiocy (and there will be one for sure) he's out of the series. Daddy's boy or not. Had a talk w GP3 guys 2 yrs ago to emphasise this. Told them that if they ignore yellows I'd order med teams to stay in their vehicles. Told them that unless they respected the flags they could bleed to death in their cars, I would not risk the lives of medical crew.Told them nobody's wife was gonna get a phonecall coz of "testosterone fueled delinquents" I believe was my phrase

I know you laughed at me last year, but one of these days something to do with the GP2/GP3 boys will result in a fatality unless they calm down.

Cecotto's move was just staggering. There's no place for it on the race track. Yet even after being thrown out of qualifying, he's still not accepting blame for it (on Twitter). So he hasn't learned his lesson, has he?

I know we don't live in a perfect world - if we did, the best 26 young guys would be in GP2 and they're no - but just having a little bit more sense would be nice.

Please somebody send Cecotto to some obscure south american touring car championship. They have yet to begin racing and some GP2 drivers are already showing atrocious driving standards and total lack of sportsmanship. So much for the ladder to F1.
