Since Premiere's probably dropping their A1GP coverage to save even more money for some stupid football rights I'll once again try to visit the Zandvoort A1GP Event. Are there still enough tickets available?

https://www.a1gp.com/Tickets/Tickets.html

Seems the main grandstand may well be sold out for the Sunday, but there are tickets left everywhere else.

That's good, grandstand is a bit too expensve and you don't get to see much. Dunes ftw

I think I heard somewhere that it was on the streets of Kyalami?

Nope, it's the actual Kyalami. Only street circuit this season is going to be Jakarta.

One of the Korean drivers were driving in the Formula Renault race at the World Series race at Silverstone. Span off in the 1st race, think he finished mid-field in the 2nd. Should be interesting stepping up to an A1GP car....

Some of them do rather well even without the experience. Armaan Ibrahim springs to mind, the 16 year-old may only have been in the India car because of his father, but he didn't disgrace himself.

Go Bad Lee was also in with a chance of the seat, but wasn't quick enough.

Another new Team on the Grid

Quote:

Team Monaco to join series this year

By Steven English

Team Monaco will join A1GP this season with former GP2 racer Clivio Piccione leading his country into the championship.

Piccione will be a joint seat holder for the nation, as well as its driver, alongside Swiss businessman and historic Formula One racer Hubertus Bahlsen.

The 24-year-old Monegasque has previously won races in GP2 and F3 but hasn't raced since his Formula Renault 3.5 campaign in 2007.

"I'm very proud to have been able to put this project together," said Piccione. "I believe this new enterprise will bring a lot of excitement and glory to our country.

"It's a unique situation to be able to take on two roles but I believe it's a great asset for me not just to be the driver, but to have a real involvement with the team structure."

The team will be run on a day-to-day basis by former Super Aguri F1 sporting director Graham Taylor and are supported by Prince Albert II of Monaco, who has backed Piccione throughout his career to date.

If Piccione misses any races, could Beretta or Ortelli make single seater comebacks? :D

Have any of the F1 drivers to have taken up residence in Monaco got a "dual-nationality"?

A few other pieces of news:

The Jakarta street track in Indonesia will be designed by Hermann Tilke's company.

Good news for Brits, Sky Sports have extended their broadcast agreements for another three years showing live feature races at all the rounds until at least the end of the 2011 season. Channel 5 are also continuing their highlight package.

And finally, Team Australia have produced these pictures showing that their car will look like:

something in my mind is yelling at the - "Get Sky, get Sky". Shame that it's such a pain in the arse to get it here with all the retailer stuff, costs, etc.

The design of the livery reminds of the one BMW uses in Formula 1. Just replace the yelow with white, the black with red and the green with blue and you're there.

I'd love to be able to have Sky where I live, but it just isn't a viable option, both through cost and practicalities. So it'll still be a case of waiting til the Monday/Tuesday for the race to pop up on RU before I can watch it.

There have been slight rumous about a Belgian team right from the start of the series, but still no announcement anywere. IIRC saibot/Anasazi/Tobias had some more info about it

Yeah right, even Monaco has it's own team, and Luxemburg has their own A1GP site (while they still don't have a team). I doubt there will come a belgian A1GP team, especially on this short notice
