Hey we are talking about Tony George here. He signed those deals.

Tony George= Everything that was bad about Indycar

I think NBC-Comcast proberbly looked at how the series has grown in the last 12 months, and thought "Shit, we need to capitalise on that"....

Source? He's been confirmed for St. Pete only.

Curt Cavin reports Coyne will field two cars in St. Pete for Bourdais & Jakes.
http://blogs.indystar.com/racingexpert/ ... ete-plans/

Adding these two, Matos, Kanaan, Saavedra and one Newman/Haas (Servia most likely) I think we have 26 cars on the grid confirmed (could be 27 if Hinchcliffe somehow lands the second NHR).

Let's remember that from this season race cap is limited to 26 car so if more cars will show up for an event then we will get bumping.

Given the plant had a magnitude 9 earthquake then a tsunami hit it, I'd say it held up pretty well and the massive disaster the media were ohhh so hoping would happen didn't happen.... but this is the wrong thread to be talking about that.

Great news that TK got a drive!

Entry list as been released... 25 cars. NHL with one car - Servia. Coyne has two cars, Bourdais and Jakes as expected. We were thinking there would be 26.. but there is no SFR car on the grid.. not sure what happened to Carpenter.

Guessing they are concentrating on ovals only, considering Carpenter isn't that good on road courses/street circuits compared to ovals. Plus, SFR may not have had their road course program ready in time for St. Pete.

SFR swapped the St. Pete entry for Sonoma later in the year.

Ed Carpenter / Sarah Fisher Racing wrote:
“I am really excited to be heading back to Infineon in 2011,” said Carpenter. “I am slightly disappointed that we will not be in St. Pete to be a part of the start of the season, but I am more excited about the progress that we are making as a team. I feel like my history at Sonoma shows better performance compared to St Pete as well. I just can't wait to get back in the car at Kentucky and to get to the month of May."

I've got a bet with someone at uni, that the Indycar race will be more of a decent watch than Formula Bull**** going on in Australia.

He was like "But they have movable wings, and tires that fall off speed if you push them"

My Responce: "Yeah, but our guys can RACE, not whine like a baby all day (Marco aside)"

St Petersberg is usually a meh race. Albert Park is usually an awesome race. You might lose that bet.

You better hope for rain in St. Pete.
