Roth was actually reasonable on the ovals. I even remember him qualifying in the top 10 once! I don't remember him ever getting in the way of the leaders quite so badly. It's a shame that he couldn't keep a drive for the ovals and give another top driver a chance on the road courses.

Still, I love Toronto. Awesome to see Viso that quick!

Looks like Matos did an Allmendinger, though interesting the car didn't bounce back into traffic as much as in 2005.

Maybe he was just going slower or maybe they've pulled the wall back a bit, I dunno...

Quite often he fell to the back quickly when he qualified well.

Don't have a better source than people on the internet yet, but apparently in a Q&A session Randy Bernard said that it hurts IndyCar's credibility that Milka Duno is allowed on track.

'Duno, Milka - No speed'

Made me giggle.

And if someone can't maintain and compete with that, I really think that's what we have a ladder system for.

And to be fair they should check the car as well. It's unprofessional for a team to run a car in a potentially dangerous state.

Take Iowa, she was half a second off the pace but in the rebuilt car she went to four seconds off the pace even using the push to pass, she used half of it up before she was parked. That tells you the car wasn't prepared properly. What DCR have done is take Duno's money to may for two cars and give her a heap of junk because everyone knows she's slow.

Which makes me wonder why she doesn't just say "Give me a decent car or I'll take my money elsewhere and you'll have no team".

Who knows, maybe she's just content with being in the car. If she's not good with setup then she's not going to know where she's going wrong. IRL gave her driver coaching but that's no good if you don't have the car underneath you.

Maybe she realizes no other team could deal with how horrible she is?

This kinda hits the spot really. She is in IRL because Citgo wants her there. Bugger all coverage in Grand-Am, where she was previously, and they can afford to run in IRL, so they put her there. The only team desperate enough to run her is Dale Coyne.

Duno isn't good enough. Not by a long shot. But she was never as terrible as this, and then suddenly took a very sharp downturn in performance. Something, or maybe several things must be a factor. It's almost like they seen how people were bashing her for it, so decided she was going to be even slower, to somehow fit in with the bashing better. A parody of herself, if you will.

I do agree she shouldn't be on track. She's had her chance, she isn't good enough - job done, etc. However I also understand why DCR is running her, and why IRL continues to let her run. But I think IRL needs to take a look at why shes went from slow, to borderline dangerous. If she got back up to the speed she was before then there wouldn't be much issue.

People can defend Roth if they want, but his blatant disregard for his own team members in the way he closed up shop and went in a huff when told he should find someone else to drive the car was a complete disgrace. Motorsports doesn't need people like that screwing with things.

They found something wrong with the rear suspension on his car which may help explain his lack of speed in qualifying.
