Somehow I don't see Channel 4 or Motors TV increasing their TV coverage time so this means a lot more racing has to squeeze into the same amount of TV time for next year...

Some of the races were pretty dull even in the 30min Channel 4 highlights, so probably not the biggest loss at the moment.

What's this, the opening F3 race at Oulton Park and no reports of a flip or major airbournez?

How rare!

Looking forward to watching the highlights on Motors, but this year it's looking like a walk in the park for Vergne, even if Calado and 1 or 2 others might want to put a challenge.

Biggest disappointment of this first weekend is Nasr!!! :o The kid was like, the Schumacher of Formula BMW. Sometimes the step up to F3 is difficult, and time will help, but still...

Vergne is really the best but the season is long and everything can happen. I also thought that Nasr would be better but it's only the first round...

It kinda didnt help that he was driven into by someone adjusting their radio settings under the SC.

Was that in the 1st race? Channel 4 highlights didn't even mention a SC!

Really? Yeh it was. If it showed the Calado incident that thats what triggered it. He ploughed into Lloyd.

Nope, Channel 4's highlights of the 1st race was of the start and 1st corner, then straight to the chequered flag! Looks like 3 races aren't going to fit into 26min highlights very well. Hopefully someone will be capping the extended MotorsTV version.

Same thing was shown on motors regarding the first race lol.

Post subject:  Re: 2010 British F3 Championship

I have a feeling with the races being on Saturday and Monday they didn't really bother sending a full crew for the Saturday to have them sit around and do nothing on the Sunday and bring them back on the Monday...

So the start finish straight was probably all that was covered...

When it comes to this three race syndrome, I suspect the Saturday race will fall into "BTCC Saturday" syndrome...

I've seen the races on MotorsTV 2 days ago, about 00.00 CET
The 3 races were fitted in 45 minutes if I'm right.

Was hoping it wouldn't happen as they normally have a full crew to cover the Saturday GT race. Can see the logic for a skeleton crew on the Saturday with the bank holiday, hopefully it'll better in the future weekends!

Hopefully, but as I said before, there's suddenly 30 races on the calender this season, but I haven't read about the amount of TV airtime increasing... :o

Has anyone been to an F3/GT meeting before? I'm tempted to go to Silverstone for the next race. Worth going to? Anyone else going and fancy a meet up?

I'm tempted to go just because the GTs sounded awesome on the stream from Yas last week or whenever it was. I went to F3 in 2006 and that was really good. But, exams mean that any race meetings before Mid-June look unlikely.

I went when they raced at Knockhill from 2001 - 04. They were good fun, although there wasn't as much atmosphere as at a BTCC meeting. But some of the racing from the support races, i.e FFord and VW cup are worth the entrance fee alone.
