That's it, Parente's career is fucked.

I can't find a source for the confirmation of Perez at Arden?

Renamed Addax team sign Grosjean

The former Campos team have announced their new Barwa Addax name and confirmed Romain Grosjean and Vitaly Petrov as their drivers for the 2009 GP2 Series.

The name change is a result of the departure of founder Adrian Campos at the end of last season, with new owner Alejandro Agag opting to re-title the team after the addax antelope, and in deference to main sponsor Barwa International.

Campos won the teams' championship in 2008 and took third in the drivers' points with Lucas di Grassi despite the Brazilian missing the first half of the season.

Renault Formula One test driver Grosjean has joined Addax after winning the GP2 Asia title and two races in the main series with former champions ART last year.

"There is very little to say about Romain having already reached Formula One status, in one of the best teams," Agag said. "We shall offer him a car that will give him the opportunity to demonstrate, not for the first time, his undoubted talent."

Grosjean added: "We have high expectations for the season to come. They have welcomed me warmly and I really feel that together we will be able to work efficiently and successfully from the get go."

Russian driver Petrov is about to start his third year with the team, having taken two victories in the main series and one race win in the Asian championship.

"We know each other perfectly and we know that he will guarantee us important points in the overall championship and offer other great moments like his victory in Valencia," said Agag. "And who is to say he won't be fighting for the drivers' championship."

Petrov, who first joined GP2 with DPR in mid-2006, admitted that this had to be a breakthrough season for him.

"For me the 2009 season will be probably the most important and difficult," he said.

"I'm really happy to stay one more year with Barwa Addax Team, which was my strong fortress for the last couple of years. I hope that together with my new teammate Romain we can repeat last season's result and become the strongest team in GP2."

It's almost certain that Luca Filippi will partner Viila at Supernova.

Rigon and Al Fardan will test for Trident.

Panciatici joins Durango line-up

By Matt Beer Saturday, March 21st 2009, 12:34 GMT

Nelson Panciatici, Durango, Paul Ricard testing March 2009 Durango has completed its GP2 Series line-up by signing French driver Nelson Panciatici.

The 20-year-old Formula Renault graduate has already tested for the team during the winter.

"When, two months ago, I went to Durango for the first time I immediately felt at home," said Panciatici. "After last week's tests this persuasion became certainty.

"I am in the right team. I am very happy because, even considering how difficult the next season will be and how many difficult things I must learn, for sure Durango will deliver me all the necessary support."

Team boss Ivane Pinton added: "I kept an eye on Nelson during the last seasons, he was my first choice for the Durango 2009 GP2 campaign.

Panciatici joins Davide Valsecchi in the Durango line-up. His signing means that only the two Trident drives and one DPR seat remain to be filled.

He was once in Renaults youngdriver program but they dropped him (not that that means something, they even dropped Kubica imo). But in 2007 he topped all the wintertesting of Formula Renault 2.0, still he only finished 10th in that championship.

In 2008 he raced in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship, he became runner-up, but he didn't get a single victory!

There are other drivers who deserve a GP2 seat much more then he does.

But it's all about the money..

This kind of thing explains why Durango, even being one of the most traditional teams, could never get any sort of good results apart from Pantano in F3000 in 2003.

Hello, there has been testing in Paul Ricard 2 weeks ago, and Barcelona this week. Nobody cares?

Parente's been 2nd yesterday and 1st today, that's much better than expected. Barcelona's one of his best tracks, but I hope that's an indication for the season.

26. Ricardo Teixeira Trident Racing 1:30.893 +3.945 24[/spoiler]

again Di Grassi very fast, with his experience he should be able to conquer the title this year

also Parente being very fast again, he was a bit in the background in his first season (wich suprised me because he did win both the title in British F3 and Formula Renault 3.5) but he's back again it seems, I'm shure he can get some nice wins this year

Davide Rigon only 23, he should be much more in the top, but fact is that Trident is a crap team, in another team he would have done much, much better, I'm shure

Parente in 1st and The Hulk in 4th makes me a happy panda.

Someone give Rigon a half-decent car, please. He beats his team-mate by 2 seconds and somehow manages to beat 2 other drivers.

Ricardo Teixeira doesn't count as a driver, he's more like a granny at the wheel.

I have the feeling this year will be it for Di Grassi. Hes been at it in GP2 for years now, hes got to do well this year so he can finally get a F1 drive. Hes got what it takes for sure. It's like Pantano, he tried for many years in GP2 and other feeder series', even though he won it, he couldn't even get a test. So I think Di Grassi has to step up this year.

Erm, that doesn't negate what he's said, the entire goal of Pantano's GP2 career was to get back to F1 and he couldn't get a test again, even after winning the championship.

I agree that Di Grassi right now seems to be the main favourite, due to his experience, the team he's in, and the testing times; but I don't think it's going to be a walkover at all: Grosjean, Hulk, Maldonado, maybe Kobayashi and Parente will have a word to say in the title chase.

Anyone knows what channels will show GP2 in France and UK (confirmed on Setanta?) ? Because Eurosport France won't show GP2 this year and Setanta is too expensive. :(
