Yes ;-)

Bot seriously I'd love to have a hiarpin in a football stadium or such. There are enough stadiums with the required access tunnels.

I don't think it would work. You have to ask the stadium owners which I'm sure would ask for a big figure or flat-out say no.

Plus, it'll look really shitty.

I feel as if all races in Mexico should be conducted through a baseball stadium.

Back on subject of track alterations, Sonoma's being modified for their race in mid-August. Turn 7 won't use the extension. The chicane at turn 9 will be widened by 50 ft at drivers' left and the hairpin entry point will be 200 ft. longer.

Yet they still won't use the actual hairpin turn.

That's going to make turn 7 really tight.

Indycar are using state of the art graphics on their website to illustrate the changes at Sonoma...

Somebody needs to be replaced and fast. That is insanely unprofessional.

They're treating it as a run-off area.

Lol, that's got to be some summer student worker at Indycar drawing those first maps :D Wouldn't be surprised if that kid also decided how to change the tracks. Just realised only 4 more races to go this season, that went by fast. They really need 3 or 4 more races to make the seasons a bit longer.

Well it'd logically be the first place people think of him going, not sure Indycar want to associate themselves with another series cast offs though, unless they want to start the first championship for supermen drivers on all kinds of drugs.
Could get them some publicity I guess....

Despite the shoddy paint drawings a lot of focus of Indycar atm is improving their tracks for better racing, which despite my usual negativity, I have to respect.
Sonoma is such a hard track for open wheel cars to pass at so every little helps...

They've changed the Push to Pass a bit too:

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101684

Quote:
IndyCar will build a five-second delay into its push-to-pass system for this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio.

Wat?

That's the strangest implication of a turbo boost I've ever heard of.
Will have to see it in operation before judging but....curious.
