I wish they consider Pocono Raceway! Just love that tricky triangle and with IndyCar racing, it's absolutely perfect...If Pocono is added, I'll go wild! I've been wishing its return for a long time!

I just hope it isn't a track already on the schedule. I know Texas was great, but lets spice it up a bit.

Argh, no Pocono?

I would prefer an oval as the China replacement. I don't think they could even have another street race if they wanted so at least there's that.

Phoenix would be great. Loudon probably wouldn't be bad but I'd prefer Phoenix. Or Nazareth if it still existed in a functioning form.

Vancouver can't be used most of the tracks been built over now.

Hopefully Pocono is on next seasons schedule and it should be a 500 mile race.

The most recent excuses on why IndyCar doesn't race in Phoenix lies on reconfigurations that would benefit NASCAR racing, with a set of countless changes to the track...I honestly think you still can put IndyCars there...but actually the main problem is: ISC owns the track, NASCAR has basically "kidnapped" Phoenix and transformed it on a NASCAR-exclusive oval....so it's sad but I don't see Phoenix coming back to an IndyCar schedule too soon.

About Nazareth, I still refuse myself to believe that oval was destroyed....one great oval, provided lots of fun, it was the "Andretti family oval", wasn't it? Whoever had the idea of deactivating Nazareth is a criminal.

Another track that has always been underrated is Disney oval in Orlando....loved when IRL used to make races there....it's an entertaining oval.

Didn't they already decide before the season they couldn't do an ALMS/IndyCar doubleheader weekend for some reason this year at Road America?

Some teams tested at Phoenix earlier this year. With the short oval configuration, they went flat out the full lap. I'd say no, unless they tweak the cars like they did for Texas.

That would be Roger Penske as he sold it to ICS who then closed it so the dates could be transferred to Watkins Glen, and it's not a feasible option, unless you fancy digging the trees up that are growing through the track surface.

On the bright side, ICS is open to offers to sell the track...

One track I've not seen mentioned that would fit the bill: Texas World Speedway.

Those Nazareth pictures are just sad.

Not really sure if they're safe to be occupied, truth be told. That was always the popular story regarding why Texas World fell into disuse by major and semi-major racing series in the '90s.

That being said, I wonder what kind of speeds they'd pull there.

As a reference, last pole speed (USAC in 1979) was over 191 mph. Biffle pulled a 218 mph lap during testing in 2009.

At Texas World? Goddamn.

Yeah, the IndyCars would be insanely fast. Would the drivers be able to take the g-forces? How much more downforce would they add? How much power would they take away?

The more I hear about it the more I believe IndyCar will be going to Road America with ALMS.
